In all seriousness, we need Mike James back. I think Dickau + the trade exemption should work to get him. What a good pg rotation if he had Mike James starting, Banks backing him up and then move West to a backup sg (with a Tony Allen trade) or you could start west at the 2 with Pierce at 3 with Ricky coming off the bench then. Allen would have to be dealt for a 1st though. Or try to make 1 big trade with Toronto involving Blount, Allen and Orien. We could get Arrajo, James and a future 1st in return.

Not bad of an option if you are looking for a scoring PG. But he's not much of a set up PG. I wouldn't mind bringing him back for the right price.
Why are you so interested in moving Orien Greene? He's got the tools to be our best PG.

Dude, stop already. I've had it. Why don't you think Orien will be good?! He is a great passer, very athletic, a great ball-handler, and not to mention a GREAT defender. Would you rather have a Marcus Banks who can't run a team, or an Orien Greene who CAN run a team and who can play almost just as good defense as Banks.

Meltin, let me hear you explain why you think I should stop thinking that Orien could be our best PG?

At least we are all agreed that Dickau and Banks can't do it. I think West can be a very good #2 or #3. That leaves Orien. I think he can also be a very good #2 or #3, with the possibility of being #1. I'm just happy that with West and Orien I see more good than bad, but with DD every time I turn on the Tv he does something stupid. With Banks the only time it's fun to watch him is when he plays defense.

Alright, a breath of sanity ;D
Eja, Dickau is coming around the corner with his shooting. He may start to grow on you soon.

My thing with DD is this. He is the most veteran pg on the team making the most money biut he can't clearly beat out anyone. Also whenever Delonte plays he works real hard. I wouldn't say DD dogs it but I don't see the same sense of urgency out of him at all. Couple that with pretty bad expensive play and I'd really rather not deal with him.
I'm also pretty annoyed at Doc. You can't just let a young guy play in the summer league and expect him to develop. Perk and Al J should get around 20-27 mins a night and not Scala. That;s why West is developing into at least something serviceable. Giving Perk 5 mins a game and Scala 15 would be like if DD was getting 35 mins a night and DWest was getting 10. That's just dumb and short sited. It makes me think Doc doesn't really believe in them

Very logical. Plain and simple, instead of forcing the veterans to play so much minutes every game, start the season by playing the young kids a lot more than they should. Get them used to the speed of the NBA and the physicality. Then, after they adjust and start getting comfortable, they'll be much more adept at producing for us in the second half.
As it is, none of our young players are getting enough time to develop. Jefferson needs a whole lot more than just 17 mpg, and Perkins needs at least 10.

For this team, the PG has to be floor general. Assists, and leadership. Scoring is a bonus. The ball can't sit in one players hands (except the PG) to long.

That's why Orien could be our man at the PG position. What's not to like about him? He is a great floor general and plays great defense.

Meltin, let me hear you explain why you think I should stop thinking that Orien could be our best PG? Because Marcus is our damn answer. Marcus is a lot better.

It may have looked like Doc was so great when he took Perkins and Jefferson to the ECF having a great time to observe (like he totally wanted them to play the following season) but that looked to be a front to me. Theres much more behind the scenes.

What's so special about him huh? Yeah he plays shut-down D, but so does Greene, and OG is stronger. Banks can't run a team, Orien can. Jeez.

Orien can also play more than one position. I wonder who would be a better off guard Banks or West. I think they are both bad at that position
