Couple of good PG's in college right now, but not like the cream of the crop in years past ('03 with TJ Ford, Hinrich, and Ridnour, '05 with Raymond Felton, Chris Paul, and Deron Williams). Marcus Williams is a well known PG, but joining him at the top are Rajon Rondo, Jordan Farmar, freshmen Greg Paulus, Justin Gray, Ronald Steele, Darius Washington, etc.
But one guy who has caught my eye early on is Taurean Green (pronounced just like Orien, except with a "T". I kept thinking the commentators were calling him Orien Greene, which had me scratching my head). Think of Omar Cook with a jumper. Very solid floor general who can knock down shots from the outside as well as push the tempo when opportunities are there. He doesn't force things and can handle the ball well without having to be flashy. Has solid quckness and strength and has a straight game face that doesn't seem to be phased even if he's bringing the house down or playing real bad.

Rajon Rondo is near the top of my PG wishlist. He's so much more under control this year, but his decision making and playmaking ability are still very high. Very poised and under composure. Very good ball handler who doesn't lose control. Has awesome court awareness and the touch to make nice over the top passes. He's an excellent scorer who's very polished penetrating in the lanes. He used to have a lot of flash in his game, but he's cut most of that out (which cuts out a lot of turnovers), and now is mostly substance.
What really makes me like him more now than before, is his shooting. Its looking much better, much improved.

I like Marcus Williams from UCONN. Not sure if he will turn this year. A tall point guard, that can run the floor, and shoot as well. He is not playing right now, due to a scandal w/ PCs, but he will return (hopefully) after the 1rst.

Marcus Williams is set to start practicing with the team very soon. I like Williams too, but Rajon is going to be a better pro because of all his abilities.

Supposedly, this kid Randy Foye is starting to soar up the very early draft boards. They say he has very good handles and has a scorer's mentality. Apparently, he is number two on some of the depth charts for point guards and some even have him number one.
I still think Rondo will be the first point guard taken just because of his quickness and his ability to involve his teammates.

I like M Williams. Not only can he pass, he can shoot. A tall point guard that can run the floor. ;D

Marcus Williams is a very cerebral PG, has a lot of feel for the tempo. What he lacks in footspeed, he makes up for with savvy. He reminds me of a less flashy Jamal Tinsley--hard guessing if they are going to pass, drive, or shoot.
I've seen Randy Foye on a few occassions, and I'm not sure what to think. He's a bit on the stocky side without long arms. He's strong, and not overly quick, but quick enough to get by defenders. I guess he's somewhat like Chauncy Billups. At any rate, I'd say his chances of succeeding as an NBA PG are better than Marcus Banks'. I never bought into the Banks hype, because I just don't see the PG skills in his game. As a scoring option, I liked him. But now that Orien Greene has supplanted him, he's out the door.

Actually, I think its just the way things turned out. We were pretty sure that Gerald wasn't going to get playing time early on. But I was thinkiing that Gomes would be able to be a 10 mpg player by now. But he plays behind Pierce and Ricky, and he hasn't been able to move past Justin Reed yet. In time, Gomes will show his real game and show how valuable he can be. But for right now, he'll have to work his butt off in practive.
We had a big PG battle this preseason, with Delonte, Banks, Dickau, and Orien all fighting for some playing time. Well, Banks continues to prove that he isn't a PG, and Dickau got injured. But I'm fairly impressed with Orien. He can make a pretty good career if he really works at his game.
