No, not Al Jefferson...... Al Horford (remember this name). But he is a Jefferson clone, everything from his long arms, his fluid athleticism for a big man, his amazing quickness for a big man, to his natural nose for the ball, his amazingly soft hands, and his quick leaping ability. Just like Jefferson, he's a new age PF--not bulky and power oriented, but fluid and aggressive. He's going to be a solid rebounder because he also has Big Al's tenacity to go after rebounds, using his long arms to tip balls into the air to grab it himself.
His ceiling isn't as high as Jefferson's, but I'd like to get this guy because at the very least, he'll be a terrific backup to Jefferson, who'll especially be a strong 1 - 2 combination when they are on the floor together.
What out for this guy and remember his name.

Isn't Gomes good enough?

Meltin, you can never have enough good big men. Unless you think Brian Scalabrine is enough for us and we don't need to add any more depth.

There will be no room for everyone if 1 more guy like that is added. lets keep Gomes, Jefferson, Perkins, Scala and Raef has to stay due to his big deal. Lets just keep that the way it is. Add Reed to that and thats just 1 more. I can see some big trades going down by the deadline and offseason. You wait. Even with Blount gone, we would have enough depth at pf/c. But if enough trades are made, I would sure love to see that good backup pf to come here. its just too damn crowded right now.

RR, Horford is a sophomore for the Florida Gators.
So Meltin, if I understand how you see things, if you had the opportunity to go out and grab a guy who could be a better player than Brian Scalabrine, you'd pass on him because we have no where to put him? That's just like saying you wouldn't accept two $20 bills because you have a bunch of $1 bills in your wallet and can't fit anymore bills into your wallet. Doesn't make sense, huh?

Gomes I feel is enough right now. I am so sick of these silly ideas. Many trades would have to be made to bring this "so called" super backup in.

And getting players like Lorenzen Wright and Mike James are your solutions to get us to the top? Some of our ideas may be silly, but yours are actually depressing. While we are trying to find ways to build up a championship team, all you want to do is put together a team that will just play well enough to be in the playoffs.
Think back on the Ricky Davis trade. Did we give up a whole lot to bring him here? We got ourselves a 20 ppg scorer for a bag of peanuts. Lucky for us Ainge thinks up "silly" ways to get good players here.

Well rebuild and tear apart the team if you want to contend! I wouldn't be opposed to it. This is the celtics. And Lo Wright is an upgrade over Blount (if we're not rebuilding but trying to get better up front) Mike James is an upgrade over any of our pg's to start. He shoulda never left. UNLESS WE'RE REBUILDING TOTALLY. But we aren't so it aggravates me.

James is a score-first point guard. Chances are, it wouldn't work out, because we already have 2 scorers.

Sure Lorenzen Wright may be an upgrade over Blount (and I'm not so certain about this), but that still won't make us contenders.
