Just a bit over 52 hours before the commisioner calls out the first pick.
Latest word is that we could be going after Luther Head with the 18th. I like the guy, but not as an 18th pick. With a late first rounder at best. He should go second round, though.
Another rumbling (from the Providence Journal) is Hakim Warrick at 18. This would upset me--I'm not a fan of Warrick.

Me neither. Tweener version of Carmelo mixed with John Wallace.

Luther Head! no way... that would be a complete joke! Same goes for Warrick. The one time I heard him compared to Walter McCarty made me ill. I know not to believe all that I hear but it got stuck in my head...

I'll puke if we pick Head at 18. He's good, but hes a second rounder at best.

Luther Head has apparently sneaked into the first round. But it'll be a big stretch to take him at 18. If Ainge has a big interest in him, he should move the 18th and pick up a slot in the mid 20's. He could see a working combination of Delonte and Head in the backcourt--two 6'3" - 6'4" guys who can stroke the ball from deep and inside the arc, dribble it some, and play smart basketball.
C17, though I'm not a fan of Warrick, he's better than McCarty. A stick of bubble gum can do more with the basketball than McCarty can. I serously hope Ainge has no interest in him. He just doesn't fit in with the concept Ainge has in mind. Warrick has not displayed that he's a smart basketball player or being a versatile scorer who can shoot.

From what I readon Danny, he is looking for a player that fits in the mold of playing lock-down defense, and can run. Jack, and Rukic come to mind.

He's also said to be looking for smart players. By smart players, he means guys who know what to do with the ball and how to move without the basketball. There are some college players who are in this mold, but more of these types of players seem to come from international territories.

Yes, I see Ainge going after euros or hs'ers. It looks as if Martell Webster will be long gone before 18 though. Hes even ranked above Gerald Green now. If he does go 18th, Danny will draft him and look to move Pierce ANY CHANCE he gets. Same with Antoine Wright. On a side note, you know whats really stupid? They have Minnesota drafting Garcia at 14. No wonder everyone leaves Minny! McHale is not as good a talent evaluator as Danny at all.
