Just 3 days left until the day finally arrives.
Well, we know that Ainge has at least contacted the top 4 teams to see if a deal could be worked out to land a top 4 pick. Whether something happens or not is still up in the air. The only way we get that top 4 pick is if we trade Pierce. I think he knows that and called anyways.
Would the Bucks want to trade for the 27 year old Pierce? Yeah, now that they've lost head coach Terry Porter, they may want a young and talented wing player who is already a star, rather than drafting a player who could take a few years to become one. First they had Ray Allen. Then they had Michael Redd (who may still resign with them). They may want to continue with the star SG lineage.
Would the Hawks trade for Pierce? Possibly.
What about Portland? Yeah, we've heard the rumors already.
What about New Orleans? They seem set on Deron Williams, but can they turn down Pierce?
What about Toronto. Would they be willing to trade us the 7th and 16th picks and fillers for Pierce?

I've got baaaaaaadddd news and I hate to be the one who said it. In fact I won't. But there is clearly one other player the Cs have that could be traded for the top pick. i wouldn't do it if I were him.

Mark Blount!!! <crossing fingers>
If you are referring to Big Al, we are safe. There's no way Ainge moves him. He's more untouchable than Pierce is.

yes that's who i was referring to and you said it, not me. I think Al j has a potential hall of fame type career. i wouldn't trade him for a draft pick or any combo of draft picks unless it was someone like Lebron. Lebron and Shaq were the only tow nearly instant HOFers befor ehey were even drafted in the last 15 years.

Yep, I wouldn't trade Jefferson for anyone other than Lebron. LBJ is definitely the brightest star in the league and he's definitely a guy I'd give everything up to get.
Big Al does have star potential in him. His touch around the basket can be close to that of Duncan's. That's some lofty aspirations, but I'm not afraid to make that claim. The touch he has is all natural, very instinctive. Just like Duncan. Its all about the feel. Not overpowering like Shaq or Amare and not 10 foot turnarounds like Rasheed or Zach Randolph. Jefferson takes the ball in and does his baby jump hook either leaning in toward the basket or off a spin move--much like Duncan.

Don't see anyone in th is draft who looks to be more of an impact player than AJ right now.

Nope, this draft isn't an impact draft like the 2003 draft. This is a draft that is considered deep with talents who could be good caliber players, not star potential. Not every draft will produce a superstar. Guys like Lebron, Shaq, Amare, Duncan, etc. come along once every few years.
We got our star player in last year's draft. For the time being, Ainge can work on getting excellent role players to surround Jefferson.

I'm starting to believe you want Jack - TJ... ;D
I wouldn't mind having him in Boston myself.

I'm starting to believe you want Jack - TJ... ;D I wouldn't mind having him in Boston myself. if we didnt get him and still got a solid player i would be happy... but ya jack is my guy right now... it would all depend on how the draft went tho.. i mean if we could trade up and get someone like Felton or Paul that would be a lot better... personally Felton is my favorite PG in the draft but chances are we arent gonna get anyone like that.

If we trade-up to get Paul it might be one with PP in it. IMO - I might do it.
Felton, maybe a Banks and next years 1st or two seconds over the next few years. (not sure if I believe that one myself...)
Slap me if I'm way off base. ;D

The only thing i have against Jack is that he is the 5th best PG in the draft and sometimes you don't win championships with 5th best PGs from one year. You win with a top 5 PG in the league. Then again since we know Banks is nowhere near that maybe getting a PG is a good idea. Tony Parker was picked last in his draft. It wouldn't shock me if jack is better than him some day

Time and hide-sight have a lot to do with it.

Hard to say if Jack will one day be better than Tony Parker because sometimes Parker looks like a real good PG, but often times he leaves you shaking your head in disgust. This could be Jack also because he's been prone to turning the ball over.
I'd do what I can to get Chris Paul or Raymond Felton. I feel that we'd have a much better shot at winning the trophy if we have an stud PG running the show.

I don't think this is the year to trade P2 for a stud point guard. Perhaps if the guards were bigger, or taller per say. Though, I don't see P2 being in the long-term plans.
