Villanueva is going to be one of those players who should be a possibility at 18. In fact, if Ukic, Korolev, Ellis, or the other guys Ainge is rumored to be interested in are gone before we pick, I think he could be a more likely pick than Garcia, Simien, or Gomez. Reason being he'll cause many mismatches with his height, length, speed, and perimeter game (though he needs a lot more work on his outside shooting).
I haven't seen Andre Blatche play, but apparently, he's got Charlie V's game. Tall guy who has the height to be a PF/C, but who's game is versatile enough to take him outside.
Wonder if Ainge has any interest in him?

Well, at least you're expecting many of those guys to be picked already. In the situation Roko Ukic or Jack is picked, Villeunova would be a nice addition. Something tells me Jack COULD go earlier than 18 like to Indiana. Its not in my mock draft but who knows.

So, guys like Monta Ellis, Andray Blatche, Bynum, and Webster could be there at the 18th pick. If you're truely building for the future you take the player who going to have the biggest impact on the team even it means he won't contribute until 3-5 years down the road. I truely do believe Ainge will not take a collegiate player with the 18th pick.

Unless that college player can make the biggest impact down the line.

I think the Celtics should draft Jan Jagla in the first, Vladimir Putin in the second and either Dave Chappell or Santa Clause with the other 2nd. Well it's still better than whoever the Knicks will take

is it me or does anyone have a feeling that we might take Monta Ellis with the 18th pick? From what I'm reading around the message boards I'm hearing Ellis has been tore up Raymond Felton in a private workout with NY. Here is the link: "The Knicks do have the eighth pick in the draft, and they'd love to see Chris Paul or Deron Williams plunge into their playmaking-starved laps. It's not going to happen. And they won't draft North Carolina's Raymond Felton, not after Mississippi high schooler Monta Ellis scorched him — "Ate him alive," said one witness — in a Knicks workout." www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050619/COLUMNIST03/506190339/1108/SPORTS01

Ellis is a possibility. Interesting he took Felton to school. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that tryout. He might me a good pick, now that we can send players to the 'minors'. These guys can still practice with the NBA team and be brought up if needed during the season? Anyone know? Mev17, do you know?

I think its a highly possible situation. For all we know, Monta could be higher on Ainge's wish list than Jarret Jack. IMO, if Ainge can't get a solid passing PG in the draft (Paul, Ukic), I think he's going to go after athletic scorers and as we know, Ellis has been among the highest scoring players in the nation. He averaged 40+ pts per game this past season so he does have a knack for scoring. Jefferson proved last year that high school stats are not necessarily worthless. Guys who can score may be able to translate that ability to the next level. There are going to be the comparisons to Dujuan Wagner, but who knows what Wagner could have done with his career under the right system and right guidance.
Ellis is not on my top 5 wishlist. But he could be on Ainge's.

No, I don't think we'll be trading either Ukic or Jack to the Clippers if we draft them. Not only do they have Livingston, but they have a good backup in Marko Jaric.

I agree JHVO8. Wilcox in NBA Live got 30ppg and 17rpg for me but not a damn chance in the nba lol.

To make an honest evaluation of Wilcox, trade him to any other team than Golden State, and see what he can do. Clipper land, w/ the exception of Brand, is like a junk yard of NBA talent.
