Hey, hey, hey, we did it. The Dolphins finally got a win today and it came at the expense of the St. Louis Rams (poor St. Louis, first it was the Red Sox winning against the Cardinals and now the end Miami's losing streak ). Fiedler did well today, keeping away from the costly TO's and Sammy Morris got our first rushing TD this season. I seem some good things in Morris. He'd be a quality back. Both McMichael and Chambers had TD receptions to go over a magnificent overall game today. And as usual, the defense was superb. Finally good to get the first win. We still won't get to the playoffs, but I think we can play good ball the rest of the way.

I think mev17 is a Dolfan too. 3 Celtic/Dolphin fans come here, hard to believe. Nice win...I thought it was a typo when I saw it on the ticker. With this O-line I wouldn't predict anything as far as wins go.

Well, at least we won't be the first team in history to have perfect seasons on both ends (wins and losses) ;D
Wade Smith was held off the field today. Good move because he was just butchering our O-line. Fiedler still got sacked a bunch of times, but 31 - 14 is still impressive.
All I want out of this season is a few standout draft picks.

Two good points... I want a whole new front-office and at least one new coach, the head one!!! The thing I keep hearing about Wanny is his lack of letting his coordinators do their jobs. In Norv Turner, we had a very good offensive coordinator but Wanny was the one doing the play calling. So Turner packed his bags and got a head coaching gig in Oakland. He needs to let his coordinators do what their professions are and not be the do-it-all head coach. Hear of any good QB's coming out in the draft, C17? Or RB's?

It's good to know we won't be 0-16. It would have been a bitter irony to have the best and worse seasons ever. But I suppose it worries me that with Fiedler having a good day, the front office will use this performance as an excuse to keep starting Jay and not significantly upgrade the QB position. I mean, last off-season was pathetic: out of 8 people interviewed to be the new GM, I read 5 stated the #1 need was to upgrade at QB, yet all ownership did was hire from within, make a bad trade for another team's 3rd string quarterback, and make him split time in spring training and pre-season with Dave W's favorite, Jay Fiedler!! Then Feeley gets put on the bench after, what, 2 bad games, and Fiedler does even worse but still stays as the starting QB. Now that we actually won a game, Fiedler is almost certain to start the rest of the year, meaning the 2nd round pick we gave for Feeley was a waste!! It's not like Fiedler hasn't had enough time to prove himself, or has any significant untapped "potential" so I believe we should see how the younger Feeley can develop so we can truly see if he is a keeper or not. I sure hope we have a new GM and coaching staff for next year, or I am affraid our Dolphins will go through a Rick Pitino-esque time period. Sorry for the rant ... as you can see I'm not as optimistic about the direction of our Dolphins as I am about the Celtics.

But you know there are QB's and RB's out there, it's just a matter of having a staff that can point them out. I don't think we have the right people in place to make that call.

Next Monday night. We can take the Jet if or O-line give the Back the time and holes... ;D Not holding my breath, but have hope...

Hey, Sammy Morris looked pretty good out there. And we still have Lamar Gordon to look forward to. And David Boston as well.
Definitely, our priority above anything else (well, except for a GM to replace Spielman and a head coach to replace Wanny--maybe Jimmy Johnson again?) is to get a top shelf QB prospect. I was hoping to land Drew Henson, but we didn't want to give up a high draft pick for him. But instead we give the Eagles a 3rd round pick for Feely?
The best way to top off this season is to end the Patriots winning streak. That will be the king of all irony!

Not to make matters worse, but I believe it was a 2nd round pick for Feeley. My greatest fear is that Dave W and Spielman will still be around and either botch the 1st round pick or trade it away.
I have not followed the college game as closely as I used to, but I have heard good things about USC's quarterback, who may enter the draft this season.
Of course, I went to UCLA, so I would have a hard time cheering for a USC quarterback, but anything if it helps the Phins.

I'm not sure, but I would take a QB from JackU, if he was the right player.

Would you guys rather take a QB, an O-linemen, or a RB with the first round pick?

Would you guys rather take a QB, an O-linemen, or a RB with the first round pick? Man, loaded question... Best player first I guess. Kinda weak response but true. We did well with Danny M with no running game but we had a line. My choice, we need a line first...

Depending on how high our pick is, it might be worthwhile to trade down. For example, if we do get the #1, trade it for something like the #10, a 2nd and a 3rd. That way we can address multiple needs instead of drafting one quarterback and praying that he pans out. I am not sure there is one "savior status" quarterback out there; plus wasn't Marino taken at #23?
