i got the perfect band for you, CF. have you ever heard of "los lonely boys"? they are a band of three brothers who play magical music. they're a mix of a lot of different players like stevie ray vaughn and richie valens. but a lot of they're songs are catchy (filled with a lot of amazing guitar work ala SRV), a little bit of country, some poppy songs, but a lot of energy. i don't think you'll go wrong with this cd.

Cool Ill check them out. I know its hard to suggest music for someone you dont know their tastes, but there hasnt been a band that has come along in awhile that I have really gotten into. Most of musical tastes are pop-ish I guess but with a hard edge. I like originality. I cant stand bands that sound like everyone else.... For example I love the Police because noone sounds like Sting.. Nor could write lyrics like him. Same with Van Halen because you know its Van Halen the minute you hear it. During the 90's I liked bands like Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins who were a bit off hte mainstream. Was never a big fan of Pearl Jam. Im not a huge metal head, although VH is labelled metal although they really arent...

well then i think you'll love los lonely boys then. at least check them out at the record stores. they normally let you listen to cd's before buying them right? you'll love them if you like some mexican sounding flavor, too. they have a lot of styles in their music. but i love vocal harmonies and these guys do a lot of three part vocal harmonies that are just amazing.
do you like barbershop quartets? i love it. i also love bagpipes.

ROFL. The Banjo is better. Show me a barbershop quartet with bagpipes and then you are onto something.

Hey I downloaded that Heaven track off that site. I heard them play that on Conan. They are cool. You would like that Mesa Boogie amp if you are looking for the SRV sound. Or like a Santana sound as well..

they played on conan? no way, i love conan obrien. he has my type of humor. that guy just cracks me up. they've got a lot of other songs you might like. if you get a chance to hear these songs, check them out: senorita, hollywood, more than love and onda. by the way, piracy is bad

I do have Kazaa although it sucks though. I have downloaded some music. I have bought so much music its ridiculous. I dont see the big deal. Im trying to learn guitar and the cheapest way is to get the songs that way and dload the tab as well.

its actually quite foolish. know one cares about taping songs onto cassetts from the radio. but downloading music of the internet is wrong?
i do understand the artist's point of view though. and i also understand the public's point of view. a solution needs to be drawn up.
