This trade is too good to pass up but then again, it may also be too good to be true. But I think you set everything straight JHVO8. People will now drop the idea probably. These fans will think up anything because they want #17. Always watching old reruns of Bird, Parish and Mchale and living in the past and thinking of how it can just get better when it won't. Al J is a bright spot and is part of the future to be looking forward to but I just don't hold hope for this team to win #17 anytime soon. Fans in here just love to talk about any trade scenarios that will automatically make things better because true winning (not just that ecf run) is something fans of this team has not seen in awhile.. Some trade ideas are much more ludacrous than others though. Keep hoping for #17. It wont' happen. Even if Walker and Pierce go, you're still looking at a building project. Either way, you can't win whether Walker and Pierce stays or if they go. Our guys don't command much value.

Damon Stoudemire was picked 7th and was ROY. Dirk N was #9. Pierce was 10. No way on Earth the Warriors do that trade. When you draft in the top 10 you hope to get lucky and get an MVP type. If the Warriors did that they'd be even more insane than I thought and I'd say after trading Vince for Jamison (not so dumb in hindsight I guess) picking Dunleavy #3 and Biendris ahead of Al J my respect for them is already pretty low.

Right now I am pleased w/ Danny's project. Take a look at the roster before him, and after him. Night and day. We actually have talent to develop, as well as bargaining chips to trade. Are we there yet? No. But, hope is still much alive, and much much more alive than before him. ;D

Like I said, this team is in a no win situation for the present whether it means keeping Pierce and Walker or tossing them. BUT, for the long run, there is hope. At least it can go further with the right mix of guys than frikken Walker and Pierce running the show. If Danny continues to draft and all the pitino/obie pieces go, this will be a better team. You figure, Danny signed for 3 more years. in 3 years, he can assemble a possible contender if he rids Pierce this offseason and lets Walker go.

With the right PG and the right talent surrounding Al Jefferson, I think Ainge can make this team into a contender without Pierce. What we need are better defensive players who are good scorers without demanding the ball a lot. A team full of capable shooters/scorers who can defend is what Ainge is aiming to accomplish. And of course, the team needs to be able to run. He loves the uptempo game because it entertains the crowd.

Derren, are you sure you are not behind the Pierce for #3 pick deal? ;D

The up tempo game like the classic celtics is good as long as theres enough d to win a title. Can he do this seeing there is no Tim Duncan like guy availabe for us anytime soon? I'd like to hope he can do it with the right mix of guys that are not big stars. Even if we're in a final that bores fans, at least a title would be won. Who cares what national fans think right? Who needs more bandwagoners anyways? As long as the city of Boston loves the celtics.
