KG hits both FTs. KG called for the foul as he tried to block Harpring's shot. KG's 4th personal. He misses the first FT. hits the second. Posey misses a 3 and Jazz rebound. Williams got away with an obvious foul and lays it in. PP misses a 3 and Boozer rebounds. Boozer hits a jumper over Baby. Time out with Jazz up 98-89 and 3:51 left in the 4th. Why didn't Doc put Perk back in around the 6 or 7 minute mark? Perk was keeping this team in the game and was playing great. This is what scares me about Doc's coaching. Also the refs have been terribly one sided in this game.

Rondo needs to come back in..For defense and offensive purposes..Perk would be a huge help..Doc has this problem of keeping Posey at the 4 lineup in foooooor waaaaay too long at the end of games...I'm just not feeling Doc's usage of timeouts, subs, or lineups tonight..But i don't really blame him since not having Ray REALLY affects this result..

Doc FINALLY puts Rondo and Perk back in. Celtics inbound. PP drives to the hoop and is called for an offensive foul. Violet not surprisingly makes another bad call. Okur misses from the corner. KG rebounds. Rondo misses a runner in the lane and Jazz rebound. Williams drives and is fouled. They call it a flagrant foul on Perk. It was a hard foul, but Perk was going for the ball and came down on him. Williams hits both FTs Okur misses a 3 and rebound goes out off Jazz. Rondo drives into the lane and is called for an offensive foul. Williams hits a straight away 3. Posey cuts to the hoop and lays it in. Celtics called for a foul and Korver at the line. He hits the first and Baby comes in for KG. Korver hits the second FT. Time out with Jazz up 105-91 and 1:44 left in the game

Tough game. Utah really came to play. Sloan is a very good coach.

Yeah I can understand why he went with House with Ray out. We needed a shooter. We just couldnt buy an outside shot. We should have !!!GREENIAC!!! the outside shot and tried to get our defense going and go to the basket with Rondo and Perk. We had that play with posey and garnett working though. This was one night I would done something different but I dont think that was reason we lost. We lost because we were getting beaten along the baseline and on weakside rebounds and getting picked off and rushing at the man with the ball. We lost this game defensively imo and I think we went with a smaller lineup to try to combat guys getting beaten along the baseline, by going small. They just didn't execute. Our small lineup came in and got bullied a bit and were slow rotating themselves.
Sloan had a good gameplan against us and we weren't ready for it. We play this game again and we beat utah. This is a game where it's just hats off to utah for coming out and beating us. But I don't think it happens in a 7 game series like that.
Utah is a very underrated team... Sloan is one of the best, and they have a tough bunch of players and smart players. We beat them on their home floor and they came very prepared for this game.

What the hell happened tonight? Utah struggles routinely on the road, but we get blown out by them? And how does KG only get 4 boards in 36 minutes? Very bad effort defensively, and we got out-rebounded worse than we ever should.
Any word on how bad Ray Allen's injury is? Amazing how things can be going so well, then all of a sudden someone gets hurt and we get run out of our own building. Hope this wakes us up for a very tough road trip.

Well I dont think we got blown out, but we did get our butts handed to us. Losing Ray hurt because in the 12 mins he play he had 9 points. Its a shame no one else could really get anything going on offense. As was mentioned before, these West teams are all in a battle for playoff position so they are coming out with something to prove. Better team won tonight and lets hope Ray is ok and we can get back to winning. I think if we win our next game we clinch the Division. So, I hope we can pull it together and not let this one affect us.

Doc got outcoached this game, but Sloan is one of the best in the business. Not a bad loss.

Games like this are why I will always HATE THE REFS. Violet Palmer needs to quit or be fired. It was cute and PC when her and Dee Cantner were hired but the time has come. She has no place in the man's game. She is useless. The single reason we lost is because of the refs, nothing else.

Sexyscottish, I agree that the refs were horrible and I agree that Violet is the worst ref in the game. I always cringe when I see her reffing one of our games. But, the refs weren't the only reason we lost. Pierce and KG didn't play well, although some of that was being tentative about going to the basket because they were called for a foul everytime they did. But their outside shots weren't falling. We missed 9 free throws and KG missed 5 of those. They just were off their game in this one.
Ray Allen going out after the 1st when he already had 9 points was big. They missed Ray Ray at the end as nobody's outside shots were falling. They kept taking the outside shots instead of trying to get inside. They also didn't play defense. They allowed the Jazz to get easy baskets all night long and allowed them to shoot 51%. They just didn't want it as much as the Jazz did.
And Doc was outcoached in this one. Perk was the best player in this game - He brought it tonight when nobody else did. He was 5-5 from the field, 3-3 from the line and had 7 boards and yet Doc kept him on the bench for the whole 4th quarter until there was just 3 minutes left. So, the refs were a big part of it, but not the only reason we lost.
