Pierce should easily be able to exploit this matchup. Honorable Mention Kevin Garnett PPG 18.8 RPG 9.80 APG 3.5 EFF + 25.36 Chris Wilcox PPG 13.5 RPG 7.10 APG 1.2 EFF + 15.21 Kevin Garnett has been playing very well lately and the Celtics should look to go inside to him often as he should be able to beat Wilcox. Keys to the Game:Crash the boards. The Sonics are 2nd in the league in defensive rebounding with 33.4 per game and 1st in overall rebounding at 45.17. The Celtics need to take that advantage away by aggressively going after rebounds on both ends. Energy. The Sonics are playing in the second of back to back games and if the Celtics come out with energy and sustain that energy for 4 quarters, they should be able to run away with this game. Don't Underestimate The Celtics shouldn't underestimate the Sonics as they are a young and athletic team and will be motivated to beat the Celtics. With the Sonics record it would be easy to take them for granted, but it would be a big mistake. Game NotesSeattle is 6-27 on the road while the Celtics are 28-4 at home. The Sonics are 1-9 in their last 10 games and have lost 5 in a row. The Celtics are looking for their 10 consecutive win. Sonics coach, PJ Carlesimo is 1 win away from 200 wins and would love to get a milestone win against the best team in the league. KG and Francisco Elson have a history together. During Denver's 2004 playoff series with Minnesota Francisco Elson got very physical in his attempts to contain KG. Elson knocked Garnett into the seats behind the basket with a hard foul early in a game and later in the game, Elson was hit in the groin by Garnett. Elson caused controversy when he called KG gay for the groin shot. It will be interesting to see if they ever match up in this game. |

Celtics are due for an off night at some point. This would really have to be an off night for them if Seattle can come in here and beat them.
Next year they are probably the Oklahoma Soonics.

Sonics get the tip. Wilcox takes it to the hoop and lays it in but the officials waive it off. Offensive foul as he runs over Rondo. KG misses a jumper and Sonics rebound. Sonics miss and get 3 offensive rebounds. Green misses a dunk. Sonics rebound. Sonics miss and Perk rebounds. Pierce with an air ball, Sonics come away with it. rondo called for a reach in foul. Watson pulls up for a jumper and hits. Green deflects the ball out of bounds. Celtics inbound with 14 on the SC. PP lays it in. Petro hits a layup. PP drives to the hoop, lays it in and draws the foul. He hits the FT. Perk with a block after Sonics get away with a travel and Sonics called for a 24 second violation. Celtics turn it over. Durant gets the pass at the FT line and hits a jumper off the catch. Rondo hits a jumper. Watson takes it all the way for a layup. PP drives to the hoop and lays it in. PP deflects a pass out of bounds. Sonics inbound with 9 on the SC. Petro misses a jumper. KG rebounds. Rondo pulls up and hits a jumper. Watson takes it coast to coast and misses. Rondo with a steal and takes it to the hoop. He misses a layup. REbounds. Misses a layup. Rebounds and is knocked down. no foul. Sonics come away with it and get a layup. Pierce gets to the hoop for a layup. Durant hits a jumper on the baseline. Rondo takes it to the hoop. Petro gets a piece of it. Wilcox comes away with it. Petro hits in the lane. Watson hits the FT. KG spins on Elson and misses. Perk gets a hand on it but is surrounded by Sonics who come away with hit. Sonics turn it over. KG is fouled by Durant. Celtics inbound on the side. House is in for Rondo who picked up his second foul. RA hits a 3. Watson misses a jumper. KG tips the rebound and House comes away with it. PP with a nice cross over dribble goes to the hoop and lays it in and draws a foul. He hits the FT. Sonics miss and KG rebounds on the weak side. PP crosses over and uses a KG screen to pull up at the FT line and hits a jumper. Sonics turn it over. PP gets it to Perk on the run but he loses the handle and turn is over. Powe in for KG. Petro misses and Powe battles Petro for the rebound and House comes away with it. PP misses a 3. Travelling called on the Sonics. Time out with Celtics up 25-19 and 2:47 left in the first

Powe called for a foul on the rebound. Sonics inbound on the side and turn it over. Wilkins with a steal and an easy layup. PP passes inside to Baby who misses a layup but is fouled by Elson. He hits both FTs. Wilkins misses. Posey tips the rebound to PP . Elson blocks Pierces shot at the basket. Celtics inbound with 14 on the SC. Powe misses a layup. and Sonics rebound. Sonics miss and Pierce and Posey both go for the rebound and it goes out to seattle. Tony comes in for PP. Marshall misses a layup and Posey rebounds. Celtics look for the final shot. Powe hits a sweeping hook shot in the lane. Sonics miss a heave at the buzzer and score at the end of 1 is Boston 34 and Seattle 24.

Sonics turn it over. House hits a jumper. Tony called for a foul. Ridnour is fouled by House as he drives to the basket. Ridnour hits the first and misses the second. Powe grabs the rebound. Tony pulls up and misses a jumper. Baby misses the tip. Durant takes it the other way. Sonics turn it over. House pulls up and hits a jumper. Time out with Celtics up 40-25 and 10:19 left in the half

Hi FL! It's been a while since I've catched up with your excelent play-by-plays.
Leon and Baby are doing a nice job out there!
Paul is just being Paul and Sam is getting into shape for the playoffs.
This should be easy, Doc should rest our starters.

Sonics miss and Perk is called for a foul on the rebound. Watson hits both FTs. RA drives into the paint and hits a tough shot. Green hits a jumper. KG misses a jumper and Petro rebounds. Petro's pass is deflected by RA and KG gets it way out in front for an easy dunk. Cassell deflects the ball out of bounds. Sonics inbound with 4 seconds on the SC. Green misses at the SC. KG gets the ball inside from PP for a layup. Watson misses outside. Perk tips the rebound and RA tracks it down. PP misses a baseline turn around jumper. Petro rebounds. Wilcox gets to the hoop and is fouled by PP. He misses the first and hits the second. PP with a pass inside to KG for a layup and foul. KG hits the FT. Wilcox loses the ball out of bounds. With the last basket, KG moved past Tom Chambers for 31st on the all time scoring list. PErk called for his second foul. Sonics miss and KG rebounds. KG hits a turn around jumper. Defensive 3 second violation on the Celtics. Durant hits the T. Sonics miss and RA grabs the rebound. RA takes it all the way to the hoop for a layup.
