The Celtics will need some production from the bench. It would be nice to see PJ Brown and Sam get some minutes in this one. Defense Sometimes when teams get tired, they slack off on defense. It is very simple. When the Celtics play tough defense they win. When they don't play defense, they lose. The Grizzlies have players who can hit the three and some who can score inside so the Celtics need to defend both the paint and the perimeter. Be Aggressive The Celtics need to be aggressive on the boards, going after loose balls, and taking it to the hoop. They shouldn't settle for jumpers because when teams are tired, jumpers usually don't fall. Game NotesThe Celtics and Grizzlies have some ties. James Posey played 2 seasons with the Grizzlies. Kendrick Perkins was drafted by the Grizzlies and traded to the Celtics on draft day. And of course, Chris Wallace, of Vin Baker fame, is now the Grizzlies' GM. Memphis is 11-21 at home and Celtics are 20-8 on the road. The Grizzlies are 1-9 in their last 10 games and won their last game. With the easy win over the Bulls, the Celtics starters were able to get rest as Perk, Pierce, Ray Allen, and KG all played 27 minutes or less so hopefully fatigue won't be a problem. |

We have the Grizzlies feed tonight on LP. grrrrrrr. I really wish they would let you pick your feed. I sure hope these guys are better than those clowns on ESPN last night. Cassell isn't expected to play tonight but did travel with the team and was out on the floor putting up shots and doing some drills during warm ups. They didn't get into their hotel until after 4 am so there may be a fatigue factor.

Memphis wins the tip. Miller misses a 3 at the SC and KG rebounds. PP misses a 3 and Rondo tracks down the rebound. Rondo gets it inside and lays it down to Perk for a 2 handed slam. Warrick shoots an air ball. Celtics inbound and bring it up. Pierce hits a tough shot in the lane. Gay misses a 3. KG rebounds. RA hits an open 3 off the catch. Rondo called for a foul as Miller spins into the lane. Grizz inbound on the side. Conley gets inside and puts it in off the glass. Ball is deflected out of bounds by Grizz. Celtics inbuond with 16 on the SC. PP hits a 3 off the catch. Darko misses over Perk. Celtics with the rebound. KG hits a jumper off the catch from the top of the key. Timeout with Celtics up 12-2 8:40 left in the first

Perk with a block on Miller and he comes up with it. Perk fakes a three and then thinks better of it. Perk gets the ball inside and lays it in. Conley hits a jumper. RA hits a jumper off a screen. Perk with a block on Milicic. RA called for a foul. Grizz inbound on the side. Tony comes in for RA. Conley misses a layup. KG rebounds. Celtics miss a layup and Tony rebounds. Tony scores on a nice pass from KG. Warrick lays it in and is fouled by Perk. He hits the FT. Pierce called for a holding foul. Celtics over the limit with 5:05 left in the quarter. Rondo knocks the ball away. there is a scramble for the ball and KG comes up with it. Rondo called for an offensive foul. Time out with 2:58 left in the first with Boston up 29-11

Grizz inbound and bring it up. Lowry lays it in and is fouled as Rondo is called for a blocking foul. That is Rondo's third and House comes in for Rondo. House pulls up and misses a jumper Grizz rebound. Warrick's shot is blocked by Baby but he is called for a foul. Warrick hits the first. Powe comes in for Perk. Warrick misses the second. Lane violation on Boston. Warrick hits the third. Gay called for a foul on Pierce. That was the Grizzlies' first foul of the quarter. Celtics inbound on the side. Powe gets the ball inside for a dunk. Tony with a steal and is fouled as he takes it all the way to the hoop. He hits both FTs. Navarro misses and ball goes out of bounds off Grizzlies. Posey comes in for Pierce. tony throws it away and Gay gets the ball inside for a dunk. Lowry called for a foul as he tries to fight around a Big Baby screen. Tony at the line hits the first and misses the second. Grizz rebound. Collins gets a bounce pass inside from Navarro for a dunk. Grizzlies with pressure in the back court as House Brings it up. Celtics miss from the corner. warrick rebounds. Powe called for a foul. Collins at the line hits the first. Rondo comes in for Powe. RA comes in for Baby. Collins misses the second. Posey rebounds and quickly gets it to Rondo who speeds up the court and stops and pops and hits a 3 at the buzzer. Score at the end of 1 is Boston 37 and Memphis 20

Greg Dickerson is terrible. They've had him do play by play in the past and now they have him subbing for tommy doing analysis and he sucks either way.

House passes inside to Baby who lost the ball and the officials call a jump ball as it went out of bounds and they couldn't tell who it was off of. Memphis wins the tip. Collins called for an offensive foul. Lowry called for a foul on Tony as he tries to go for a steal. Celtics inbound with 14 on the SC. Posey shoots a 3 point airball at the SC. SC violation on the Celtics. Miller misses and Powe called for his 3rd foul on the rebound. Memphis inbounds on the side. 3 second violation on the Grizzlies. House brings it up. Tony misses a hooks shot. Crittendon rebounds. Miller misses a 3. Powe rebounds. Celtics miss and Collins rebounds. defensive 3 second violation on Celtics. Miller hits the T. Darko hits a hook shot over KG. KG stumbles and ball goes into the back court. House goes after it to try to save it but back court violation. Conley misses a layup. KG rebounds. RA takes it to the hoop for a layup. Gay misses a 3. Posey boxes out Darko and tips the rebound to House. KG misses a jumper. Grizz rebound. Gay misses and rebound goes out of bounds to Boston. PP misses a 3. Darko rebounds. Celtics with a steal. PP with a cross over and gets to the hoop for a layup. Time out with Celtics up 43-23 and 5:53 left in the half

Perkins continues to be a beast. I don't think this is a fluke we are seeing. I think Perk is really starting to come into his own. He's playing so well of late.
the last several games we are starting to see really balanced scoring and all 5 of our starters contributing. If that continues we are going to be really hard to beat.

RA hits a 3 from the corner off the catch. Conley steps out of bounds as he goes baseline. KG goes to the basket and is blocked by Darko but a foul is called. KG at the line misses the first. hits the second. Gay misses on the baseline. KG rebounds. RA pulls up and hits a 3. Time out with Celtics up 60-40 and 9:17 left in the 3rd

Conley called for an offensive foul as he runs into RA. Celtics inbound on the side. Rondo misses inside. Perk with the rebound and put back. Perk with a block but Grizz get it back. Conley hits a 3 from the corner. KG hits a baseline jumper. Perk called for his second foul as he goes over the back on Warrick inside. He hits both FTs. Kg misses from outside. Grizz inbound. Darko hits a jump hook in the lane. PP got Darko in the air on a fake and misses the jumper as he draws the foul. PP hits both FTs as he gets a friendly roll on the second. Celtics extending the pressure into the back court. House deflects the ball into the back court but Lowry recovers. He is fouled taking it to the hoop and hits both FTs. Perk gets the ball inside and gets a wide open dunk. Gay misses a layup as he is fouled by Perk. time out with Celtics up 80-55 and 2:51 left in the third.
