With the signing of Sam Cassell, the Celtics no longer need to keep Gabe Pruitt in Boston as an insurance policy and have re-assigned him to their D-League affiliate, the Utah Flash.
Pruitt has size for a point guard and in his few brief stints with the Celtics this season, he showed some good things. I like the move to send him back to the D-League where he will at least get some playing time. I think Rondo and Pruitt will be a very good 1-2 punch at the point for years to come but for now, Sam Cassell is a much needed veteran to back up and Pruitt is gaining some much needed experience.

Pruitt is a beast. I like the kid. I can't for when he and Rondo are both ready.

^Same here...The guy shot poorly in his garbage minutes which was weird cause he has a sweet jumper but i was very impressed with his D(I hope he has a future with the C's)...Though I'll never forget what Jack Nicholson said about him in an interview before.. www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1573487/story.jhtml"However, it is about the organization. Look at the Celtics. That's nothing but good management. They got a player I wish the Lakers had drafted, Gabriel Pruitt. He shut down every point guard he played in the NCAA, and that's the player the Lakers need really."
