"The Celtics' opponents are learning a hard lesson: Pay too much attention to the Big Three and their solid supporting cast will beat you.

Kendrick Perkins scored 19 points and Rajon Rondo had a career-high 16 assists in Boston's 108-100 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night.

"[That] shows how unselfish Rajon is," said Celtics forward Paul Pierce, who scored 13 points. "I think teams are starting to take notice of our other guys.

"The focus night in and night out is going to be me, Kevin [Garnett] and Ray [Allen]. When they overlook these guys, they can really hurt you," Pierce added. "When you look at the championships being won, it is usually because of the great role players stepping up and getting the job done."

The stars, however, produced down the stretch as the Bobcats closed the gap. Garnett, who scored 17 points, hit two jumpers with under two minutes left, each time giving the Celtics breathing room by extending their lead to seven.

And Allen, who had 22 points, made a layup with 1:13 left to give Boston a 102-93 lead and put an end to the Bobcats' hopes.

"If we move the ball, play unselfish and keep the turnovers down, we are a tough team to guard night in and night out," Pierce said."

My Vote [glow=red,2,300] Rondo/Perk [/glow] I really can't decide..I loved how Rondo showed his leadership and actually ran/controlled this team and its tempo..His career high in assists was a nice feat but then Perk had 5 blocks! and just a nice game finishing buckets..I think you can connect many of Perk's points to Rondo set ups or passes so i was going to vote for Rondo but i felt like Perk deserved something too..So i give .5 for Rondo and .5 for Perk...Ray had a great game, Garnett a solid one, and Pierce had a decent one(though he played very nice on the defensive end)...Powe, Baby, and Posey were nice off the bench too...

I gave it to Rondo. 16 asts!!! RU KIDDING!! He really handled the Point this game. I was impressed. I was also impressed with Perk as well and like RunRondo said, coulda gone either way. I am just more impressed with the little guy!

It's a split between perk and rondo. I think both deserve it. Perk came up with some monster defensive plays and opportune dunks and rebounds.

I'm voting for Rondo just to even things up, plus I think he really controlled this game and did more than what the boxscore indicates. This was rajon's game. But all in all it was a team effort and balanced scoring which in itself says a lot about what ROndo was doing out there.

Got to be Perk. The Celtics were up 13 when he went to the bench and the Cats came back and cut it to 5. Doc brought him back in and he got a rebound and a block and played solid defense and the Celtics win by 8. Perk was the man throughout this game.

But as others have said, Rondo had an incredible game as well. But Perk gets my vote just because of how the team slipped when he wasn't in.
