There are reports all over about players Danny is interested in.
He has definitely made an offer to Brent Barry and I think he would be a good fit. I like him even better than Cassell. But the Spurs, Suns, Rockets and Mavs all are going after him as well. If he goes back to the Spurs, he would have to wait 30 days. All are playoff teams and possible contenders. The Celtics are the only team in the East and it may come down to whether he wants to come East or not. From that group, I would think that the Suns may have the best chance.
There are reports out of LA that Cassell will probably be bought out. But there are also reports that the Cavs are going after him pretty aggressively and has offered him the starting PG spot. I know he has a history with KG and was saying he wanted to come to Boston, but starting in Cleveland may trump coming off the bench in Boston.
Danny is also reportedly inquiring about Jamal Magloire and Flip Murray. Chris Anderson has also been mentioned but the Hornets are leaning toward re-signing him and they would get first chance.
It is looking to be a very interesting week with the deadline for players to be waived or bought out in order to be eligible for the playoffs on March 1.
I expect Danny to do something but not sure what. I would love to get Barry, but the ball is in his court to choose the team he wants to play for and the Celtics are at a disadvantage there. The Cavs have suddenly moved into the frontrunner spot for Cassell. I don't know if there are other PGs that Danny would consider but if we miss out on both of them, he may just stay put and look to bring in a big for insurance.
