The Celtics made 19 of 28 free throws while the Nuggets made 34 of 49, and both Rivers and Garnett expressed displeasure with the disparity.
"We didn't get any calls, man," Garnett said. "They shot 49 free throws. We can't win any games like that.
"We don't get a lot of the same calls that are going around the league. Maybe we need to put a tape together and put it into the league or something.
"I'm not taking anything from Denver tonight - they were the better team and they beat us."
"Forty-nine to 28 is one hell of a stat, when I thought we were actually driving more," said Rivers. "But we are on the road. That's the way it's going to be. With all that, we still could have won the game."
So with the best record in the league, are we going to be burdened with playing 5 on 8 for the rest of the season. Perhaps, I need to stay away from the TV set so I don't aggravate my high blood pressure. And I need to avoid watching the Celtics in public so I don't get arrested for gross misconduct. I have been known to get like Bobby Knight when the zebras make bad calls against the Celtics.
Of course there maybe a larger F--- Boston mentality due to their teams making constant runs at Championships like they have been doing. My response is P--- on the World.

yea I totally agree. That game was extremely frustrating. We were driving more and playing more physically offensively and not getting any calls. Meanwhile every time they attacked there was a whistle. However, the toughness of this team continues to show. Although they Celtics seemed flustered, they kept working and seemed relentless in their pursuit of victory, regardless of what the refs did or didn't do. That is a sign of a true championship team.

The ref bias against us comes from the top. Stern is to blame. He has had it in for us since 1992. The ECF against the Nets?? Anytime J-Kidd fell it was a foul on us. The Indy series when Antoine came back?? We were outshot by 75 FTA by a jumpshooting team. It's no secret Stern hates us. Once Stern is gone, things MIGHT change.

that's pretty right, but not really right, since when we got the three superstars the refs are very good with us, sometimes they rob us, but the most of the times give us a hand. For example the game with the Warriors, 115-117, Pierce makes not 3, he make 4 footsteps and then call for time out, OK the ref close his eyes in that part of the game thats huge, after the time out Pierce make an offensive faul on Harrington, that's was offensive (clean and clear), they gave the right call, and then turnaround the call to a blocking faul, and gave Pierce 2 easy points for 117-117, then the truth is back, with the Davis shot with the buzzer. Belive me I'm Celtic just like you guys, but the refs help us very much at the most of the times, but you're right that sometimes they cut our heads

Nonsense. You can go to every message board for every team in the league and I'll guarantee they have posts just like this. Every fan is convinced that the refs are out to get there favorite team. It's ridiculous.
And here's a little food for thought, we've attempted nearly 100 more free throws than our opponents this year. That darn Stern! Lulling us into a false sense of security must part of his master plan to bring the Boston Celtics to their knees!

I'm with fresh on this one. I don't believe in the conspiracy theory. I do believe the officials are just bad and don't call the game the way it should be called and by the rules. The rules change each and every game where you have no idea what will be called and what won't be called each game to the next. There is very little consistency in the officiating. Heinsohn is so right about this where it's not that hard to just call the game by the rules, but I can't remember the last game I watched where it actually was.

I'm OK, with that just like you, but I'm not on the same that we are cut by the refs, they help us more than cut us.

In years past I thought we got way way way more then our share of bad calls. This year seems much better, but I haven't seen a lot and it's not always good

That series was won & lost when P2 opened his mouth, and said no one can stop him.
