The kings have Beno Udrich, Anthony Johnson, and Tyronne Lue.. I think Johnson or Lue would fit a lesser role on this team though i wouldn't know that exactly for sure...I still want to see Pruitt get a chance before we replace him..or send him to the D-league and get help...

Perk is our 5th man. I think Rondo has really improved and has solidified himself as a starter. The thing is Perk was playing much better before he got injured and was really solidifying his spot in the starting rotation as well.

Wow how did we end up talking about Scal and Pruitt, boy how things get twisted. Yes it did I think it's more mainly cause the 5th option down the stretch will be more equipped for defense and i think we all have established the idea that many can step up to the role, not just one person...Perkins would be more or less the best bet for defensive purposes(as that has worked best in the season) and Baby would be a great 5th option also with the defense(you mention his great feel for the game)..Tony Allen would also be a great fit since he's a lock down defender..But, There's 46 minutes of basketball before the final 2 minutes..We have 3 all-stars to close out games, and the strength of our bench can prevent us from being in difficult decisions and those 10th and 11th men will be important considering you never know what may happen with injuries and fouls..But yes, sorry for getting off track ;D

It depends on the situation but as far as our starting rotation we need an enforcer in the middle and Perk fits that mold. But like I said I think we will see Posey, House, etc, etc getting similar time depending on the situation. Perk will probably get what he's been getting around 24 mpg and posey, house, etc around 20 each so there isn't that much of a difference between the 5th starter and the rest of our bench. I think we will see doc go with the situation and it will even out. I gues shte point is there is no 5th man imo. It's more about 12 guys. If we are going to put our best players on the floor in a situation it's going to be Pierce, allen, Garnett. But even those guys may sit in a crucial spot if we need something else. Say TA is on fire and is playing lockdown d. He may stay in the game for someone. Say House is in the game and is mroe effective then rondo at that time because of his shooting. We may sit Rondo during a crucial stretch. Its 48 minutes and 12 guys and its just a matter of playing hte right guys at the right times. You can't really play favorites int he playoffs. You can but if you go down your roster like this guy is 1. this guy is 2. etc, etc, its not a team. You have to play your game and go with what the situation dictates.

what's your take on Pruitt? I'd like to hear yours and Derren's view on him since both you seem to have a more in-depth view on player and their skills/abilities...

Well my best look at him was during Vegas Summer league. I live in Vegas so I got to see him up close. He was one of the guys I was impressed with. He seems to play with a great deal of poise for a young guy. Obviously hes a great shooter, very nice form and showed the ability to be able to hit a few in a row on u. From what I've seen of him defensively he seems better than advertised. I think he's definitely got a future, unfortunately it doesn't seem like Doc is going to bring him in this year at all. I can understand that, being a rookie and all, running the point on this team is a lot of pressure, and it makes sense to bring him along slow. However, if a guy can play I've always felt you play him. Experience and age haven't been things I've ever been too concerned with. But so far Eddie House has played well enough to justify not needing Pruitt really. Pruitt has a great future though, for sure.

While I do consider the Summer Leagues maybe a harder environment than college I don't buy into it too much. Too many players have eaten that league alive and then did nothing like Brandon Hunter and Gerald Green. There are just too many guys straight out of high school or from Europe who have no idea what they are doing and guys like Scala trying to reprove themselves and guys trying to recover and guys like Oden tippy toeing and not playing their hardest. It's like a decent first test, but not really a predictor of success.

yea of course. It's just the only extended time I've seen him, outside of limited minutes during the season. I didn't follow him at all in college really, so from what I've seen it seems positive but who knows at this point. Time will tell.

Did he play against anyone in particular that he easily beat or got beat by?

haha my memory doesn't work that well...I couldn't tell you who he guarded or was guarded by. I just remember he looked good. But yea summer league is certainly not a good test, Big Baby looked horrible in the game I saw him. I remember telling one friend that he wouldn't last a week in the NBA. I guess that's why I'm not a scout.
