JVG is a good commentator and defending Chris Wallace on that sellout of Pau Gasol to the Lakers trade being financially motivated. Popovich said there ought to be a trade commision to void dumb deals like that. Poor Chris has been the engineer for financially greedy owners as fans of the Celtics know all to well
I agree with Bill Walton that the Shaq to Phoenix trade will not bring Phoenix a championship.

There once was a team from Boston Who was playing a team from near Austin With Rondo on the run And Pierce to shoot the gun Let's hope they don't look lostin

Boy, I can't believe that tongue slippage by JVG on that "Powe" decision. In reality, it was a rough break as Gnobli hustled back and got position to take the charge on Powe.
But credit JVG for finding out about the story behind Powe's growing up. Hard work has a place in this league, too.

The energy, the passion, the emotion, neither coach had a commotion. Celtics played with a lot of hustle, and they guarded the boards with mustle. And at the Boston basketball joint, the difference at the half was 2 point.

Oh, man did anyone else hear Bill Walton go off on the broadcast crew - all Knicks alumni on how the return of Celtics glory was so great. What a wirebrush! Pure youtube material!

I am actually getting to watch this game. I am actually getting to watch this game.
Robert Horry still plays? Geeze, he's like a hundred. I think he came in the same year as Shaq but was never half as good
Stoudamire can still play some, which makes me unhappy for multiple reasons
Rondo steals everything in site
Powe looks better (a good handful better) than Davis
House looked decent
Posey looked decent
I have decided Scala is way ahead of Pollard who never plays and looks perfectly fine to me. What does that mean?
That was a sweet stat they showed where they showed like 5 different defensive categories and showed how last year we ranged between 10th and 24th in them and now we are #1 in all 5.

The ABC crew had two of the best quotes of the year.... One... Scal is a rebounding demon. and two... Scal is what Championship defense is about...

Big Baby with the muscle rebound and Rondo is a rebounding over everyone!! Great great game! Boston has got to want it more and so far they do.

So far so good... 68-61 at the end of 3. Now we just have to keep attacking and play smart. The Spurs are going to pick up the defense and they just have to keep their composure and not let the defense throw them off their game.

Will somebody please escort JVG out the door, and throw him into Boston Harbor? My god, it is little wonder he is not standing on an NBA sideline this season. Him comparing the Knicks talent level to the Celtics is just ABSURD.

Calling Scal a rebounding demon was even more absurd

A bit sloppy, C's need to tuck their shirts in and pick up their heals.

The Spurs just don't go away.... The Celtics can't lose their composure and need to make smart plays on the offensive end and play tough d on the other end.
