Will Ainge make a trade?
With our Big 3 not getting any younger, and our window of opportunity being wide open right now, I'd think Ainge will strike while its hot to give us the best chance to win this season.

It depends if the Clips waive ET or make us trade for him. It's obvious at this point that Ainge wants Cassell as a back up PG.
As for the extra big body, who knows who Ainge is looking at. We don't have much to trade without making holes elsewhere, so the Waiver wire is more than likely only way we can go.

I heared that Cassell will be traded to Nuggets, so we must move quick and clear. Listen me one we get Cassell if we get him of course, he automaticaly will be our starting PG, Doc likes guys with experience

Right now, a back up PG is our biggest need. I don't see us picking up another big with Powe coming on and Baby right behind him and Pollard has to get healthy some time, doesn't he? I do expect either a trade or a free agent signing for a PG, though. If Cassell can't be had within our means, maybe Gary Payton or maybe another PG .... Lue for Scal still works.

I don't think Lue (as much as I would love to have an ex-husker on the team) fits in for what we are looking for. We need somebody big enough so Billups doesn't post up our smaller PG. And Ty isn't that big.

I think Danny stays pat, and doesn't make a move. Chemistry/team reasons.

With two empty spots on the roster, I have a hard time believing he doesn't make a move to fill one or both of those spots.

On Celticsblog, it said that Ainge could have gone after Cassell, but decided not to, for chemistry reasons.
Ok, that's fine, but find another PG who won't affect our chemistry (in a negative way). We need to look at this season as ours to win it all. Go all out. Ray's ankles have been bothering him all season, and 32 year old surgically repaired ankles aren't going to get much better.

I don't see any PGs available that is any better than what we have right now. Why sign a PG if he isn't going to make any impact on this team? If I were Ainge, I want till March/April to sign a PG and a PF/C for insurance purposes for the playoffs. Otherwise, save your money as we don't need to sign a player for the sake of eating up a seat on our bench.

GP, if he's still in good shape, Cassell, Hudson, just to name a few--are better ball handlers to break presses better than House and Tony. We don't need anyone to make an impact as our backup PG--just good enough to handle the pressure in the backcourt without turning it over.
You are right in that we really just need a backup PG for the postseason, but why wait till march to get one? Wouldn't it be better to get one now and work him into the system for a few months so that by the time the playoff picture heats up, and when we enter into the playoffs, the backup PG will be firmly situated?

I don't think Danny will make any trades. Maybe free agent signings. He was afraid to sign Damon Stoudamire because he was worried that it would mess up the team chemistry, so I doubt he would make a trade.
