Right, BT (Beantown). Powe is a better shot blocker.

Right, BT (Beantown). Powe is a better shot blocker. I think Powe is just a better all around defender. Powe seems stronger than Davis, too. Not to metion a higher basketball IQ.

Well, Davis is definitely stronger than Powe. This is not to say that Powe isn't strong, it just shows how strong Baby really is. I'd give the upper edge to Baby in terms of IQ, though.

Beantown,
I don't want to get hostile, but man you have no idea what a good basketball IQ is if you really believe that Powe's is higher than Big Baby's. I don't know what else to say, but clearly you aren't watching rotations, movement and activity. Glenn Davis could be our smartest player, and that is why he will be a better player down the road than Leon Powe. Why do you think Leon Powe hasn't played until now? Is it effort? Selfishness? Ability? Of course not, from the moment he stepped on the court for the Celtics last year it was clearly evident to anyone watching he had all of those.
It was his IQ, and Doc Rivers has been quoted many times in the last 2 years stating those exact facts. That Leon would probably get more time if he knew the plays better, and was more reliable on defensive rotations. Big Baby just has a nack for always being in the right place, on both sides of the court. That isn't a fluke, that's called having a high basketball IQ. Also, do you really believe we could have relied on Leon Powe to defend Duncan with no help like we did with Davis? Of course not, in fact Powe had 2 fouls before the opening tip. Simply because Powe just isn't smart enough and fundamentally sound enough defensively to take on a task such as Tim Duncan. The fact that Davis was able to hold his own should demonstrate to anybody watching that the guy knows how to play.

Whether he has better IQ of not on a nite to nite basis I think Powe is the better and more consistent player. Who cares if Davis shows up for Duncan if he doesn't show up for the other 81 games? Powe has surpassed Davis for now and there must be a reason for that

Both players will be significant players in this league, hopefully with the Celtics. We all thought Perkins and Jefferson was the future frontline for Boston. It's looking more like BBD and Powe with Perkins being a backup C. Or we can trade Garnett for Jefferson eventually
