Do we have one? I watch these games and we seem to miss a lot of shots we should make. Do we need a shooting guru and someone to work with our shooters? I've noticed Perk isnt winding up so much any more and is just going up with the shot. Thank goodness. But Rondo on the other hand appeared like he was working on his shooting and then regressed back to forcing things in traffic again.

I know Clifford Ray works with Perk a lot for his offensive stuff which is a good thing..Rondo hasn't taken much shots lately which shows he isn't really gaining the confidence(he also may still have a sore back/hamstring though)..I'm just mainly surprised at how Ray Allen misses sooo many open shots and then makes such a difficult shot later on in the game..I looked up how are guys are shooting compared to their career average and it seems that Ray is the only one who really has a big drop which could be due to nagging injuries and just plain fatigue with age... Some i included their 3pt% cause they shoot lots of them too... season FG%-------------Career FG%
Rondo- 49%--------45% Ray- 42%------------45% Ray 3pt 37%-------40% Pierce- 44%---------44% Pierce 3pt 37%-----36% Garnett-55%---------49% Perk- 60%-----------52%
House-42%---------41% House 3pt 40%-----38% Tony 45%-----------48% Posey-43%---------42% Posey 3pt-39%------35%
Rondo +4% Ray -3% Ray3pt -3% Pierce same Pierce3pt +1% Garnett +6% Perk +8%
House +1% House 3pt +2% Tony -3% Posey +1% Posey 3pt +4%
So I think we are missing shots we should make but we aren't really shooting that poorly and are actually shooting good percentages in games but with all the open looks we should shoot like 60% a game lol..Rondo i think may have someone helping him with his shot that we don't know about or ever see and hopefully Tony has one cause his shoot needs work too..Ray will fix himself and hopefully more open 3's and jumpers will fall but we just need to drive and score in the paint, then bring out the jumpers and they should fall if we pick up a nice rhythm..That's the main problem with our offense, catching a rhythm

Yeah that's the thing. You look at the percentages and we are actually shooting well, but I watch the games and it just seems like we miss a lot of shots we should make. It's not a major issue. Obviously we make a lot of shots but it seems like we can do better. RAy Allen, Rondo in particular, and TA sometimes throw up some pretty ugly looking shots. Garnett is fine. Pierce is fine. Perk is starting to get better. HOuse was hot but has cooled off a bit. Same with Posey. Davis is money underneath for the most part but i'd like him to be able to expand his range a bit.

Kevin Eastman is a shooting coach. Clifford Ray is the big man coach and I am sure he works on offense with them.
We have been missing a lot of shots we should make including a lot of layups. Ray missed several last night. I don't think Ray is 100%. He wouldn't be shooting this badly if he was. 4-13? Not very Ray like

Yeah Ray looked old and missed that easy layup at the end that perk got that putback luckily. Ray doesnt seem like himself. The thing is its hard to say Ray needs a shooting guru, when he's a shooting guru himself though..... He's not 100% or something.

It's almost like he didnt have a burst and couldnt get as close to the rim as he would have liked and threw up a bad layup. He's done that a few times lately. TA was doing the same thing when he wasn't getting the burst he wanted. Rondo forces those weird floater shots too all the time instead of taking an open shot that he has.
It's almost like a pitcher who used to be able to throw 100 mph and could just overpower guys but now he's getting up there and needs to learn how to be a better pitcher. Ray isnt 100% and needs to think through his movements a bit more.
It's a matter of guys findign their comfort zone and there are a few guys on this team that I'm not sure have found that yet.

It's a matter of guys findign their comfort zone and there are a few guys on this team that I'm not sure have found that yet. I totally agree with the getting up there part..Tony(with the injury) and Ray(ankles?) might not always get up as high as they expect or are used to and throws off the put in...I still think Ray is having the hardest time finding a rhythm in our offense that he usually got since he was always the scorer.. Out of the big 3 i thought Pierce would have the toughest time adjusting because he was more scoring orietated but Ray is having the toughest time adjusting to getting the ball open and in situations he hasn't gotten used too..I hate when Ray chalks up a 3 on a fastbreak where we have numbers(he does this often)..He'll come along, i just would like to know what's up too..And the numbers do show we're fine but i agree that we do seem to miss many open shots.. And Rondo is making his life tougher than it needs to be..The guy could get an easy jumper or layup every time but instead he either waits to long to go for the layup where it's too late or does it too early(which leads to the floater) and he really just needs to get better at situations(decision making) in the paint...And he sometimes misses layups because he puts unnecessary spin on them when they could easily be put in..I think he just needs to sit back and realize he could make his shots come much more easier than he has been doing...He doesn't' realize how he can create for himself and others every time up the court and how deadly he could be..He'll learn, and Doc was a PG so i think he's lucky...

yeah I'm still waiting for Rondo to become the player he can be. It's a shame when he got outclassed by Telfair. I was starting to regret giving up Telfair, but Rondo should be so much better. He needs to get in that flow of what he's doing. I dont think its our offense. I think if Rondo does what he can, our offense is set up so he can be a player in it. I wish he'd watch billups and how he plays because Detroit's offense isn't really set up for the pg to be handling the ball all the time either. But Billups does a great job of taking advantage of his opportunities. Rondo isnt the shooter billups is but he should be able to play to his strengths.

Early on, it seemed we were getting open a lot, but now the opposing defenses have been tighter on us. It could very well be teams playing with something extra against us, knowing how good we have been this season.
Ray is certainly working hard to get his shots, but he's missed a bunch of shots lately that he should be making. Maybe his ankles aren't 100% right now.
