Game Notes This is going to be the biggest test for the Celtics yet. The Pistons have an incredibly balanced attack and excellent chemistry. They have been together for years and have won championships. They have to be considered the favorites in this. The Celtics have been winning with defense and will need to continue to play that tough defense against the Pistons. Meanwhile, the Pistons play very good defense themselves and the Celtics have had trouble against teams that defend them well. They are going to have to beat the Pistons defense while not letting up on theirs. If the Celtics win this one, it will put to rest a lot of questions about the Celtics and alot of the criticism about the Celtics not having played any of the top teams. If they lose this one, it will just increase the questions. A win in this game would set the franchise record for best start ever. With the Spurs loss at home, the Celtics remain the only undefeated team in the league. Hopefully the crowd will be pumped up and give the Celtics a real home court advantage. |

I'm really excited to see how Rondo will do in his matchup and how the Celtics will do with this game in general..Pistons would be our toughest challenge in a 7 game series in the East in my opinion...

I agree Runrondo. The Pistons are a tough matchup for any team. For one thing, they are such a talented veteran team that has been together for many years and so everything they run is second nature to them. No missed assignments. Also, they are well coached and make adjustments on the fly very well. Finally, they are a great defensive team and that does to other teams, including the Celtics what the Celtics have been doing to everyone else. It is going to be a good game but a tough one. This one won't be a cake walk unless the Pistons have a bad game.

Look for the C's to be really intense for this game. Detroit insulted us last year and continue to talk trash this year about the legitimacy of this Boston team. The Pistons feel we only have the Big 3 and that 3 guys alone cannot beat them. Boy are they in for a shocker! Everyone must come to play tonight. If one of our bench players does not get up for this game and leave it all on the court, it will really look bad for him. We must make this a statement game. That doesnt mean that I think this is a must win to prove ourselves to the rest of the league. This will only be atonement for the lack of respect and the insulting way in which Detroit thinks they are the only challenge to the West here in the East. Especially since this is home court. I feel this is an extreme rivalry which will set the tone for us for the rest of this season. I would trade this historic Celtics start for this one game. Can you tell how passionate I am about tonight?

Indeed! The C's of old and the Bad Boys were real heavy rivals. Fist fights and flagrant fouls were the order of the day. In recent history, Boston has not been as successful but still, as FL points out, beat Det in 2002 to advance in the playoffs. This game, while not as important position wise here in the reg season is a very important game to let those Pistons players know, Boston can and will dominate them this year. We have to win this game. Loyalist will be one unhappy and unloyal fan if we should lose.

LOL!! Sweet!! My wife was like, lets go out and I was like if its a sports bar yeah and she was like no I dont want to sit somewhere you'll be glued to the TV and not paying attention to me and I was like well its either we stay home and I dont pay attention or we go out and I dont pay attention cuz the C's are on and I aint missing this game! So we are staying home and I got a pizza in the oven LOL!
