Waived by the Heat today. I know he is pretty washed up, but since we got both Wallace and Pruitt down in the DevLeague, maybe he'd be good since he is a vet who can shoot and has valuable experience. I dont know, maybe wasting money on this washedup injury prone player would be stupid, but if we offered a non-guaranteed contract like Miami it would be worth it. Thoughts?

As you said, he's washed up. When we played the Heat recently, I was pretty sad to see how far Penny had fallen. He was on top of the world in the mid to late 90's. Now he'll be lucky to get any kind of short term contract from a team.

Yeah, I guess I was hoping maybe he could be more productive for us in limited minutes. He also did score 16 points vs NJ this year, but I guess its too lofty an expectation to think he can come back and be at the level that he once was.

I love players from the 90s as much as the next guy, but he serves no need for us. We need another big or a PG.

Yeah, i think are main need is a Big followed by Point Guard... and there's a reason Hardaway was waived by Heat..it's cause he isn't very productive anymore so getting him wouldn't be the best way to go...

Heh! Fresh, you hit it on the head. I guess I am still stuck in the 90's! I had this hope he could come in and play some limited mins at PG like he used to, but he hasn't played that position in a long time and it was stupid of me to think he could. I do think some team may pick him up. Maybe. Oh well!

If we look to add anyone, it sould be a PG or a center. Those are our weakest links at this point.

There are two different ways to look at it. Penny was cut from a bad Miami Heat team so he really has no place on a good Celtics team.......or given limited minutes and defined responsibilities he could be productive. I think he could be productive in a very limited capacity. The only way Boston would even consider signing Penny is if they release Wallace. Danny isn't going to fill up the 15th roster spot with Penny, and I don't see Wallace losing his roster spot to Penny.

we need a back up PG, because Rondo play very well, but he rush too much and he will make too many mistakes in the playoffs than we can effort, so we must add another experience PG to our roster, I don't know for Penny, but I want Payton, off course he's my favourite player, but I want him to distribute the ball in the hot spots in the end of the playoff games, he also can bring deffence
