Key Matchups
vs
KG vs Jamario Moon. KG should be able to have his way with the rookie. Hopefully the team will work to get the ball to him as this should be a mismatch in our favor.
vs
Paul Pierce vs Joey Graham. Graham always has a very good game against the Celtics. Pierce will need to limit Graham's touches and make him work on the defensive end. as well.
Keys to the Game.
1. Play with Energy - The Celtics have put out some lackluster performances lately. They need to hustle for loose balls and attack the basket.
2. Defend on the Perimeter. The Raptors are one of the top 3 point shooting teams in the league and perimeter defense will be crucial.
3. Rebound. The Celtics need to crash the boards and limit the Raptors' second chance points while hitting the offensive boards to limit their fast breaks.
4. Play 48 Minutes Lately, the Celtics have either come out slowly and then have to play catch up most of the game, or they have come out strong and faded in the end allowing the other team to catch up. They need to play a consistent 48 minutes.
5. Limit Turnovers. In November, the Raptors had 7 games with 10 turnovers or less. The Celtics have had problems giving up the ball too much and they need to take care of the ball as the Raptors will not be giving it up much.
Last Meeting: The Celtics and Raptors met in the second game of the season in the Air Canada Center with the Celtics coming away 3 point winners in over time. Ray Allen hit a shot at the buzzer to win the game. TJ ford had 32 points and Ray Allen had 33 for the Celtics.
Game Notes
This game features the three most proficient 3 point shooters in the league: Kapono (1st), Posey (2nd), and Parker (3rd). Over the past 4 games, Ray Allen has been struggling with his shot, but when he is on is also deadly from beyond the arc. Over their last 4 games, the Raptors have been shooting 52% from 3 point territory and they rankd 1st in the league in 3 point shooting at 44% . The Celtics need to amp up their defense as defending like they did against Philly may lead to a double digit loss.
