Our this weeks guest, the inimitable Peter Vecsey is as much of an NBA icon as a media personality can be.
He's been covering the league (and the departed, but not forgotten; ABA) since 1964, currently bringing his "Hoop Du Jour" column to the New York Post and as an analyst on NBA TV's; "NBA Vault"
Peter is such an institution in the world of the NBA, that he was chosen as one of the panelists along with the likes of Red Auerbach, Bill Russell, George Mikan, Jerry West, Chick Hearn and Bob Ryan, to help select the top 50 players of all time at the NBA at 50 celebration in 1969.
Peter branded Larry Bird with the epithet: "Larry Legend."
In one of his recent columns; "Role Worthy Of Oscar, " recounting the greatness of Oscar Robertson, he notes an appeal from the late, great Wilt Chamberlain:
We will certainly be thrilled to have Peter share some anecdotes from the golden era of the NBA, but we'll also be eliciting his opinion of the present Celtics team, as well as his take on the state of affairs at Madison Square Garden, as he is covering the Knicks on a daily basis and certainly saw "The Game" last Thursday.
We hope you will join us.

The last time I spoke to Wilt Chamberlain, 13 months before he died on Oct. 12, 1999, out of nowhere he appealed: "Don't ever let people forget how good we were."
