Cavs win the tip. James takes it to the hoop and lays it in. Celtics with a 24 second violation as Cavs play good defense and Lebron blocks Rajon's shot at the SC. Pavlovic drives through the paint and lays it in. KG backs in and lays it in off the glass. Pavlovic misses and Perk rebounds. Rondo's jumper way off and Cavs rebound. Passinside to Gooden is picked off by Perk. KG misses a fall away after 2 fakes and draws a foul. He hits the first and misses the second FT. Gooden rebounds. Lebron hits a 3 from the top of the arc. Rondo misses a floater in the lane and Z rebounds. Lebron misses a 3 and Rondo rebounds. Time out with 1:11 left in OT and Cavs up 99-95

Celtics inbound on the side. House in at the point. PP drives baseline and he throws it away. James takes it to the hoop and he is fouled. He hits both FTs to put the Cavs up 6 with 48 seconds to go. RA misses a 3 and Gooden rebounds. Posey with a steal and he kicks out to PP who misses a 3 in the corner. Gooden with the rebound and Celtics foul immediately. He hits the first and misses the second. Perk rebounds. Time out with Cavs up 102-95 and 29 seconds left in the OT

Man, this operation fell apart in OT. Cleveland went hammer down and pulled away in the last two minutes of OT. Overall, the team is exceeding my expectations at 11 and 2 and they will be a major NBA factor this year.

Yikes, the Cavs big three are playing better than our Big Three. Lebron may be shooting under 50% (11-25 as we speak), but Gooden is a whopping 11-15 and Big Z is 6-9. They combine for 72 pts.
Our Trilogy is at 58 pts, and a combined shooting of 21-50.

I am amazed, looking at the box score, that KG only has 5 rebounds. I've been spoiled by his automatic double-doubles.

Are we gonna try to hit three three's in the last 8 seconds to send it to a 2nd OT?

RA misses a 3 from the top of the arc. Newble rebounds and he is fouled right immediately with 16 seconds left. Newble hits both FTs. PP hits a long 3. Celtics foul on the inbounds with 8 seconds left. James hits both FTs. Posey hits a 3 and Gooden is fouled on the inbound pass with 4.9 on the clock. Gooden misses the first. hits the second. they waived off the free throw. He shoots again and hits. PP misses a 3 and Cavs rebound. Final score is Cavaliers 109 and Celtics 104. Celtics 3 game win streak is over and they move to 11 and 2

Frustrating loss. We really played stupid down the stretch and should have won this game. We seemed complacent at times settling for really crappy shots and letting the Cavs score when we didnt need a stop.

I like what Donny Marshall said and I was thinking the same thing anyways. It seemed like after the game the attitude was you cant win them all by a lot of the players, but the point is to win them all. You play to win, not to lose and this team is capable of winning every game and should have that attitude and be trying to. We can win them all. That's the point. Last year that was a legitament excuse. This year we have the players and are capable of winning every game, and if we don't there is something the c's did not do right.

1. Doc was playing small ball with Z and Gooden in. He should have had Perk or Pollard in every minute Z was on the floor.
2. We missed crucial free throws and shot only 69% from the line. They HAVE to practice free throws and get better. Many games are won or lost at the line.
3. KG shot twice in the last 9:14 and had only 5 touches. He shot twice in the OT. We should have been going inside to KG every time down with Gooden on him. He easily overpowered him on the shots he took.
3. Pierce played 44 minutes, Ray Allen played 49 minutes (on a sore ankle no less) and KG played 43 minutes. Doc needs to get these guys more rest. The loss doesn't bother me as much as the fact that Doc is wearing these guys out early. I wonder if Doc's incentive laden contract has a W/L clause and so he is playing these guys into the ground to try to win early.
4. The Cavs clearly wanted this game more than we did. They played harder and smarter from start to finish.
#1 and #3 are coaching problems. I still am a bit skeptical that Doc can lead this team to a championship. #2 and 4 are on the players. Lots of blame all around.

All good points FL. I'm not so much on the minutes played though. It was an OT game so without OT Pierce is at 39 minutes, KG at 38. Allen's minutes were up but he was the hot hand for a lot of the game. He really started off the game strong and that's why he was hte guy that got the most minutes imo. We were playing cleveland and it was an OT game and I'd expect this wouldn't be a game where we'd be resting these guys is all.
I'm not so much on Doc either. I Don't think he is the type of guy that has an incentive laden contract and is going to put players at risk to save his job. Doc at the very least is a good guy and wouldn't do something like that imo....... I think he went small in an effort to push the tempo and outrun Z who is slow, which did work for a bit there. Baby came in and made an impact. The problem is Doc was screaming push the tempo and you could hear him but the players weren't except Baby was motoring up the floor. He was the only one. I didn't really mind the going small for that stretch in this game. Doc was right for the most part. he went back to perk for the final 6 minutes and OT. He went small for that stretch trying to push things and the players weren't doing it. What Doc was saying was right. We should have been running Z and that is how you beat the Cavs but the players werent doing it. He was screaming at Perkins too saying run and Perk got pissed at one point and was like I know, but he wasnt doing it! I was kind of pissed at Perk for that myself because Doc was right. Z is a slowass and you can run him.

The game is over if Allen hit his free throws. Ditto for the other loss at Orlando.
