Raymond Felton/Jason Richardson/ Gerald Wallace/ Emeka Okafor/ Premoz Brezec Off the BenchMatt Carroll, Jeff McInnis, Ryan Hollins, Walter Herrmann, Jermareo Davidson Key off the Bench  Matt Carroll (brother of Pat, who played for the Celtics Summer League team) can put up points in a hurry and will need to be covered outside the arc. If given the space to shoot, he can hit the 3. Key Matchups vs  Paul Pierce PPG 22.3 RPG 5.40 APG 4.6 EFF + 22.20 Gerald Wallace PPG 20.0 RPG 5.20 APG 2.0 EFF + 15.73 Wallace has been playing great and it will be up to Pierce to keep him from putting up big numbers in this game. Wallace is very athletic so could be a handful on defense for Pierce. Wallace is also a good defender so Pierce may have to defer more to his teammates and hopefully they will deliver.  vs  Kevin Garnett PPG 20.7 RPG 13.00 APG 4.2 EFF + 31.20 Emeka Okafor PPG 13.1 RPG 12.50 APG 0.5 EFF + 20.45 Okafor was the 2nd pick in the draft for the Bobcats and has proved to be a very good defensive player. KG will have to work to get his shot off against Okafor who is known for his shot blocking ability. He is not a polished offensive player so KG won't have to work as hard on the defensive end. Coaching Matchup:  vs  The Bobcats are coached by former Celtic Sam Vincent in his first year as head coach. Doc should be able to hold his own against a rookie coach. Keys to the game: Defend the Paint With athletic bigs in Okafor and Wallace, the Bobcats look to score in the paint. Brezec is also capable of inside scoring. Raymond Felton is a scorer and can take the ball to the hoop if given an opening. We need to close off the middle and make them score outside. Exploit their Weakness Their weak spot may be the center spot where Brezec is not a great defender. We should take the ball at him and look to exploit that matchup. Look for passes inside to Perk for easy baskets. Limit Turnovers The Celtics still turn the ball over too many times. A running team like the Bobcats will capitalize on those turnovers. Game Notes: Both teams will be playing in the second of back to back games and the Bobcats will also be travelling so there won't be an advantage for either team there. The Celtics are on the road, though and won't have the crowd to lift them up. The Bobcats are a dangerous team and will look to run and shouldn't be taken for granted. |

Charlotte has finally come around and improved themselves greatly. So this will not be an easy game to win. Our history here is to give up 4th qtr leads and lose games at the very end or in OT. We have enough firepower to beat this team. The only question is - can we maintain more intensity for 48 minutes against this team. If so then it will be a win. If not, then this is a designated game.

Cats win the tip. Dudley gets the ball on the baseline for a layup. Pierce is fouled on the baseline and Celtics inbound on the side. Rondo misses a jumper and Okafor rebounds. Cats turn the ball over out of bounds. Dudley deflects the pass to Pierce out of buonds. Celtics inbound. PP hits a jumper off the inbounds pass. Dudley hits a jumper from the corner. PP misses a fall away jumper. Richardson rebounds. Cats miss but get the O rebound. KG with a huge block on Okafor's hook shot. Perk with the rebound. RA hits a jumper. Defensive 3 seconds on the Celtics. They hit the T. Cats inbound on the side. Felton misses a deep 3 at the SC. Rebound goes out of bounds to Boston. KG hits a fall away over Okafor. Richardson misses a jumper and Dudley rebounds. Felton is fouled as he puts up a short jumper in the lane. He hits both FTs. RA back rims a 3. Rondo rebounds. Celtics miss and Cats rebound. Okafor misses a jumper and they get the rebound and put back. RA hits a baseline jumper. Travelling called on the Cats. KG misses a fall away. Rebound comes to RA and he misses a short jumper. Cats rebound. Felton drives into the lane and lays it down to Okafor for a dunk. PP gets it inside to Perk who has his shot slapped away. Goal tending called on a layup for the Cats. RA to KG who lays it in, Time out with 5:17 left in the first. Cats 13 and Celtics 10

Cats inbound on the side and miss a jumper PP rebounds. KG hits a jumper from the top of the key. Richardson misses and RA rebounds. Perk backs Okafor in and hits a hook shot. Okafor misses in the lane and KG tips the rebound to RA. PP hits a jumper. Felton puts one in high off the glass. PP misses a 3 and Richardson rebounds. He takes it all the way in for a short jumper. RA misses a 3. Perk with the rebound and he is fouled. Time out with 2:30 left in the first and Charlotte up 17-16

Perk at the line misses the first and hits the second FT. Cats fumble the ball in the lane and turn it over out of bounds. RA's baseline shot hits the side of the backboard. Celtics inbound on the side. Celtics miss a jumper. Carroll rebounds. Pollard, PP, RA, Posey and Roindo in for Boston. Posey breaks up the pass and hustles to try to save it from going out of bounds. Time out with score tied at 17 and 1:34 left in the 1st

Cats inbound with 3 on the SC and have a 24 second violation. Rondo drives into the lane and kicks out to Posey who hits a 3. Dudley hits a jumper as the SC goes off. Pollard with an upfake and draws the foul. Pollard hits the first and missed the second. Cats rebound. Davidson hits a jumper. Rondo takes it down the lane to the hoop and hits a scoop shot. Brezec gets the ball inside and dunks at the buzzer. Score is tied at 23 at the end of 1

Pollard has no hands. I really dont like Pollards game at all. If not for Pollard getting fouls going to the basket, and making them I would be more upset. But he's at least somewhat productive.

Tony drives into the lane and lays it down for Pollard who misses a layup but draws a foul. Pollard hits both FTs. Davidson misses and House rebounds. Defensive 3 second violation on the Cats. House hits the T. Celtics inbound. Tony lays it down to Pollard who fumbles the catch and Cats come away with it. Cats throw it away out of bounds. House to Pollard who is cutting to the hoop and he is fouled. He hits both FTs. Okafor gets the ball inside and lays it in. Scal gets the ball in the paint from House and lays it in. Davidson misses and Carroll rebounds. House tips the ball out of bounds. Cats inbound with 8 on the SC. Tony knocks the ball out of bounds away from Carroll. Cats inbound with 3 on the SC. Cats miss and Pollard rebounds. Time out with Celtics up 30-27 and 8:48 left in the half. All of the starters have have been getting a good rest and the bench is holding its own

Okafor hits a hook shot and is fouled He completes the 3 point play. House misses a 3 and Dudley tracks down the rebound. Felton misses a 3 and Celtics tip the rebound out of bounds. KG and PP come back in for Tony and Pollard. Okafor turns it over. House misses a 3 and Scal misses a dunk put back. Cats rebound. Richardson hits a 3. KG misses a jumper Richardson rebounds. Dudley drives to the basket and is fouled by Posey. Rondo comes in for House. Dudley hits both FTs. Scal misses a 3 and Rondo sneaks in for the rebound. Posey gets the ball inside and misses a layup. Cats rebound and Felton takes it to the hoop for a layup. Time out with Cats up 37-31 and 6:04 left in the half

Awww Ray Allen's mom is in the crowd and she has a shirt with Ray's picture on it that says "My Pride". Cats miss and KG rebounds. RA misses a jumper. Cats rebound. Felton hits a 3. KG misses a layup but gets the rebound and slams it home with authority and draws the foul. He hits the FT. KG very animated out there on the floor talking to his teammates. 3 second violation on Cats. Perk misses a hook shot. Okafor called for a foul on the rebound. PP hits both FTs. Okafor goes to the bench with 3 fouls. Time out with Charlotte up 40-36 and 4:10 left in the half

He hits both FTs. Richardson hits a jumper off the catch. PP has it stripped inside and Richardson stops and pops and hits a jumper. Offensive foul called on Perk setting a screen. Posey in for Perk. Richardson misses and PP rebounds. PP drives to the hoop and lays it in and draws the foul. He misses the FT and KG rebounds. He is fouled on the rebound. KG is really fired up. He hits both FTs. Celtics pressing some in the back court. Dudley misses KG rebounds and shoots a pass all the way up court to Rondo who lays it in. Hermann misses and Rondo rebounds. PP gets the ball inside to KG who is all alone under the basket for 2. Dudley lays it in and is fouled. He hits the FT. Rondo drives around everyone and lays it in. Hermann takes it to the hoop and lays it in. Way too easy getting to the basket. Rondo turns it over. Cats looking for the final shot. Richardson hits a 3. Celtics inbound with 1.8 on the clock. Posey tosses it up from half court and it falls short. Score at the end of the half is Charlotte 53 and Boston 48

If Ray had been hitting his shot like he is supposed to we'd be up at the half. Maybe this system doesnt work so well for Ray. I just don't know why he is struggling. Its totally not Ray Allen like.
