Not that many choices actually. I think we are seeing Scala show he can be better with better players around him. I think we also see Doc thinks Big Baby has beaten out Powe for now. Also Pruitt isn't ready to help.

The biggest surprise for me has been Kevin Garnett. I had no idea that this guy was so good and so intense. He is absolutely amazing. His leadership is so key to this team. Just think of the Pacers game. The last time Tinsley got away with a dirty foul on Pierce he got tossed from the game and showed up at the press conference with bandages on his face. In the Indy game on Friday, when Tinsley got away with a dirty foul, KG went over to PP and told him to do whatever it took to get himself under control and not hurt the team. It was KG who suggested the push ups and it worked.
Other than KG, I guess it is Eddie House. I didn't expect much from him and he has impressed. I wasn't surprised by Posey cause I knew what he could do. I am not surprised by Rondo and Perk because I expect big things out of both of them.
I am a bit surprised by Big Baby. He has been impressive in the early going.

I would say house, from the choices in the poll, but for me it has been Ray Allen. This guy was billed as a great 3pt. shooter, and not much more.
I would say that he is in the top three S. guard's in the NBA. The guy does it all, very well, I might add. He is as smooth as anyone in the league. He can drive to the basket on just about anyone, and is a far better defender than I ever thought. He is a very solid rebounder ( for a 2 guard), and an above average passer, and one of the best FT & FG shooters I have ever seen. IMO, the best part of his game is his basketball IQ, which is off the charts, he very rarely ever makes a mistake.
The biggest surprise, for most, is G. Davis. I said on draft night that he would be the biggest STEAL of not only the 2nd round, but the entire 2007 draft. I think that he is a far better over all player than Powe ( who really has no offensive game). IMO, by the all star break Davis will be the best post player off this bench, and I think he very well could be a 15 pts. and 10 reb. guy, by the end of next year.
I, ( life long KY. WILDCAT fan) of all people knew that Rondo was going to be great, but I must say he is surpassing even my expectations this year. He is so smart with the ball in his hands, and might be the fastest guy in the NBA with the ball, he can get in the lane any time he wants, and it is scary how good he is, and will be on defence. The sky is the limit for this kid, he has always had a great work ethic, that is why I said that he would improve his jumper this summer. If he can hit that 15-18 foot jumper 43% - 45% of the time, with the talent he has around him, he could become a top 5 all around point guard in this league by next year, maybe by the end of this year.
I also have to say that Pierce is playing the best ball of his career, and I don't think he is getting "enough credit" for how this team has come out of the gate on FIRE. This was his team for many years, and a lot of other players in his position would not have taken it so well, when it seems that every one in the media (at least) act like he is the third fiddle on this (HIS) team. I have even more respect for him than ever. He is just a class act, and all he cares about is winning. IMO, he is the second best player on this team to KG, but not by much, and KG is the second best player in the NBA, to T. Duncan. I think Pierce is in the top 8-10 players in the league. What do you guys think, am I "drunk on koolaid", or should Pierce be getting more respect.
I know, im getting off the topic a little, but I have not been this excited about an NBA season, since 1987. I became a Celtic fan in the late 70'es ( because my dad was), but I also liked the 76ers because Dr. J was my fav. player, but when Bird came to town, the Celtics became my fav. team, from that day forward. I think the 1986 team was the best team I have ever seen, Jordan's bulls included. That team was loaded at every position, and could go 12 deep. The basketball IQ on that team, may never be seen again.
This years team is good, and can be great, but please DO NOT compare them to the 1981 - 1987 Celtics.

The whole team has come together very suddenly. They are a lot of fun to watch getting after it on both ends of the court. The big 3 are sharing which means everybody is sharing. This is the feel good story of this years NBA. The resurrection of the Boston Celtics.
I voted for Glen Davis - He seems to know whats going on and does whatever it takes to lend a hand. The only down side is that poor Leon Powe does not got any minutes except end of the game Garbage time.
Sentiment has no place in today's sports world. If it did, we probably be 2 and 5 with the same team as last year.

Vote for Davis. He got his chance due to injuries and has done a nice rookie job with it. I hope to see him get playing time even when the other bigs are healthy. That is, if Pollard can stay healthy... Not to take away from Pollard as a solid vet in practice as well as games.

The best of the poll is House. Though, I am not surprised, because I he has always been a great role player.

At this point I think it's Big Baby. he has kept the Toine shimy away and for a rookie to play this much this well, especially on a veteran team as good as this is very unusual. Another sweet pick for DA

If Baby had Perk's height and length, wow, that would be some player.
Yes, I think he's definitely in the running for surprise player on this team.
