I've been impressed with several freshman PG's in college--Jordan Farmar, Rajon Rondo, and Daniel Gibson.
Jordan Farmer (UCLA) actually impressed me at the McDonald's All-Star game last year. I was focusing more on Sebastian Telfair and Shaun Livingston, but Farmar caught my eye. Definitely one of those less athletic but high IQ guys who has a terrific feel for the game and for passing. His scoring is solid, but he really has a feel for getting the ball to the open guy.
Rajon Rondo was also a guy who caught my eye at the McD's AS game, but I thought his game was too erratic at the time. But as I watched some Kentucky U. games this season, I've noticed how much more in control his game is (probably Tubby's influence), and he still uses his slick dribbling and nose for the basket to create havoc. Hard to contain this guy with just one defender.
Daniel Gibson is a steady PG who could turn out to be one of the top college PG's. He seems to posses the skills needed to be a quality PG. He's not just a passer and a leader, but he can also put the ball in the basket.
Another guy who is making ripples in his freshman year is Darius Washington from Memphis. A scoring PG (which I don't really care for) who has shown growth in every month. I don't like his attitude though. Pretty c-ocky attitude.

Yeah, that Rajon Rondo looks like he could be good. Man Kentucky did a really good job recruiting this year. I haven't seen that much of Jordan Farmer or Daniel Gibson. I like Washingon Jr., but he's too much of a scorer for me.

Yeah, Darius Washington is turning some heads, but I'm just turned off by his attitude. One of them kids who thinks the world revolves around him. If he could have it his way, he'd want to be the first option on offense and the rest of the team revolving around him.
Kentucky has done a good job of recruiting good players. I don't really think too much of highly touted freshman, Randolph Morris. But they've got this young shooter named JP Morris (I think) who looks pretty promising.

Watch out for Jordan Farmar. This kid is for real. Cut from the same mold as Delonte West, almost exact. He doesn't have the same shooting acumen that Lefty has, but he's a pretty solid shooter. Just like Delonte, Jordan is just an all around basketball player. See's the floor like a PG but can also be used as a scoring option. Keeps up a good pace, always looking to move the ball forward. His head is always up, looking for teammates to pass to.
Not quic, not athletic--but as we've seen from Delonte, and even Kirk Hinrich, that doesn't prevent a kid from having success.
Farmar is also going to be a late first round pick. There are a ton of PG's who have higher ceilings than he does. But ain't it amazing how Ainge operates--he goes after solid players late in the first round to cater around his stars (Pierce, Jefferson, etc.) and these players won't cause us to break the bank on them when its time to resign them. Rather than taking big risks on high potential players late in the first round, he goes after solid/safer picks (Perkins was an exception because Ainge was really high on this kid).
Getting Jordan Farmar (probably coming out in the future draft, not this year) may seem redundance of talent, being that he is a Delonte clone. I wouldn't mind that, though.

Man, I just don't care for Darius Washington's cockiness and swagger. But man, this kid is a player for real. He plays way older than his age indicates. He's not afraid of anything, not even pressure. Well, he did miss the final 2 FT's that would have given Memphis the win over Louisville, but he was the reason why they were even put in that situation to possibly win the game the way he was playing the final minute and a half of the game.
His competitiveness reminds me of Tim Hardaway's.

Derren i agree with you on Farmar, down here there's been lots of talk about this guy and how he's one of the keys to UCLA's success, i really think the bruins have a good chance at upsetting texas tech in the first round (maybe that's just a homer pick )

Texas Tech ain't nothing special. That Ross kid is not that good. I really like Jordan Farmar, but will it make sense for Ainge to go for him when we already have Delonte West, who is a similar player to him? Delonte is more of a shooter, but Farmer has more leadership qualities.

I don't see ainge really going for farmar (not that farmar's a lock to come out this year, UCLA is gonna do their best to keep him there as long as they can) because like you mentioned it seems we've found our pgs of the future, but then again, west and banks may not develop the way we think they will.

I wouldn't mind drafting Farmar when he declares for the NBA (which may not be until after his senior year. Just seems like the kind of guy who finishes what he starts). I would love to put Farmar in the position to compete with Delonte to see who beats out whom.
