This will be a thread for any news regarding the players we will be auditioning for the draft. celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/view.bg?articleid=83754Friday, we will be hosting 3 players, 2 of whom are known commodities--Salim Stoudemire and Luther Head. Stoudemire is not worthy of the 18th pick, IMO, and he's not going to last until the 50th pick (our first of 2 second round picks). Luther Head, on the other hand, could possibly be available at 50, and I wouldn't mind taking a stab at him. Good size for a PG and he can shoot the ball from deep. He's a tweener, which gives us versatility in the backcourt.

I dont't like SS. I would love to get Head if he's available at 50.

I dont't like SS. I would love to get Head if he's available at 50. For some reason, I feel the same way, E. Something about his personality, or maybe his game, just drives me nuts. I think he's rather limited in his abilities, its either a three pointer or a wild shot off a dribble penetration.

I heard SS had an attitude. Who wants that Wright pg? hes projected around 40 I believe. Hes 6'6 or so. Whos Luther head? If he is a pg and hes a tweener, he must be under 6' right?

Johnny, I believe Head played SG at Illinois, but he's short enough (6'3'' or 6'4'') to be a point guard. He has good long range ability. It'd be nice to have a true shooter besides Lefty on this team.

Luther Head would be a nice pick w/one of our second rounders. Most say he is a tweener, which is why he is not a first round pick. Could be a steal.

Yeah, he's sort of got that Maquis Daniles feel about him. Quiet guy who just goes out and plays hard and scores a bunch of points. We'll see if Ainge likes him after his workout with us.

Who wants that Wright pg? hes projected around 40 I believe. Hes 6'6 or so. Bracey Wright from IU? if so, he's probably about 6'2-6'4, and isn't a point guard at all...his HS all american PF could only score on putbacks because the PG isn't very good and wright refuses to look for anyone else...

Thanks for the link CF, sometimes I skip over the official site, because they tend not to cover the news as well as the Globe or the Herald (or BC ;D).
Ronny Turiaf = Big guy with brains (it sounds)... I like the way he responds to the questions - if nothing else...

I'm not excited over any of those guys. I've seen a few Cincinnatti games this year and Maxiel is just a 3rd tier PF in this draft. Turiaf has skills, but I hesitate giving him my endorsement. I can't put my finger on it, but he's not a guy I'm eager to draft. David Lee is a pretty athletic big man with good height. But he's nothing special.
The guy who could make the team is Salim Stoudemire. I'm actually not a fan of his for various reasons, but if he's around at our 50th pick, he could be a guy to go after. I don't like his game (very limited IMO) and especially his attitude. But he could be our 3 pt specialist off the bench. Basically, on a 12 man rotation, he'd be the 12th guy--the guy who comes into games when we need three point shooters on the floor. Say we have the final possession before the half and we are coming out of a timeout with 4 ticks left on the clock. This is when Salim could be utilized.
Other than this, I'm looking forward to seeing better prospects working out for us. BTW, anyone know about this so-called Celtics Run drill? Guess words been going around about how hard this is.

Hey TJ, good to see you again.
OK, so what exactly is the Celtics Run is the question I'm asking.
