Might be funny and entertaining if Scott Pollard comes back and provides a big spark for us off the bench.

It means I'm going to paint my fingernails and get a mohawk.

I mean, think about if Pollard becomes such an integral part of our bench, that he's just as important for our chances of winning than anyone else on the team. Wouldn't that be a big time surprise. Like looking through you old collection of baseball cards, only to find buried deep in your shoebox a Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card.

I don't know if I'm that optimistic, but I have no problem with Scot pollard. I think he can be a good contibutor. He's really not a bad player at all when healthy. He's actually pretty good. I can see him playing a bigger role for us. So you aren't far off. He isn't Kandiman, he is an energy guy and a pretty hardnosed player. He also paints his fingernails which I have no problem with either. He's not Cherokee Parks. Pollard is cool.
The key with Pollard is playing him in spurts. He needs to stay healthy. The thing I like about Pollard is he isn't afraid to get in there and play dirty. He's kind of a junkyard dog sort of player. Not the most taltented or athletic but he uses his body well and isnt afraid to take contact. He's the guy with Perk who are going to benefit from all the attention being paid to Allen and Pierce and KG, by getting putbacks, easy baskets on feeds cutting to the hoop etc. and really getting on the offensive glass.. He also has playoff experience.
That said, I think if Pollard can everage 5 and 5 and a block a game and have his rest now and come back healthy and plays the whole year he has exceeded expectations. I'm guessing realistically he plays 50 or 60 games and gets around 4 and 4.

Yep, I remember him (during his Kings days) as a scrappy player in the post. He could care less if he was ugly looking, uncoordinated, and a pain in the behind. But he could get in there and do his work on the boards. That's what we need. And I hope he'll be healthy enough to be a good contributor this season.
I ain't asking for 15 and 10 from him. I'd be happy with 7 and 6 in 20 minutes.

In all honesty I think Pollard will do well in Boston. Best case scenario, Pollard does well and you know some college kids are going to have their own Pollard cheering section and he is going to become this cult hero here. Next thing you know it's Pollard mania. Not likely, but we all can dream and he does have that persona... He's a fan favorite sort of guy. That's the kind of energy we need off the bench though. Pollard could be that guy in some fashion for all we know at this point.
IT's been a long time since the C's have actually been good. That can breath energy into a bench by itself.

I'd be interested in a Pollard and Baby impromptu interview, with them asking each other incoherent questions. That would be a riot.

Johnny Damon was kind of that guy the sox and really played off the fans and I'm kind of expecting the same in some regard. The thing is personality wise Damon and Pollard are similar. DAmon was a better player obviously but I think the fans will get behind Pollard if he does well.
The thing it's been a long time since the C's have been relevant around here..... This town is so stuck on the Sox and Patriots it's ridiculous. I'm a sox fan and all but when some random person who doesn't know anything about the team is saying Go Sox it gets annoying. Bandwagon jumpers.....
