Pierce made a comment after the game tonight that Garnett should be the best player in the league this year. I liked that because it shows that I think Pierce and Allen are willing to play their roles this year. The main adjustment for our trio imo is that these guys are used to being the main guy on their respective teams. Garnett was that in Minny, Pierce here, and Allen in Seattle. When we traded for these guys a lot of people said, who will take the last shot, kind of saying it's an ego thing and I don't think it's that. I think all 3 of these guys are willing to do whatever it takes.
The main adjustment for Pierce and Garnett and Allen is they are not accustomed to being on a team with stars around them. I like what I saw tonight and I just hope they keep improving on it. It is an adjustment from having the ball in your hands all the time, and really having an offense run through you and now having to play off of the 2 other stars. I just hope it works out. I honestly believe our offense should be centered around Garnett in the post but Pierce needs to be allowed to play his game as well and same with Allen and it's going to be interesting to see how they manage this. I like how it looked tonight and hopefully they will continue to improve in that regard. It seems like we do have a system in place that will allow them to do this. Other games we look out of sync. Doc really needs to make sure these guys continue to get on the right page.

I thought that Boston may suffer from chemistry issues at the beginning of the season as the trio gets to know each other. I have to admit, considering how well these guys have meshed during preseason.......chemistry may not be an issue. These guys have checked their ego's at the door to win. When it gets right down to it, great players want to win and will do what ever is necessary to do it. Pierce had a reputation for being immature early in his career, a reputation that was a bit over stated at times but not undeserved. With all that he has had to endure as a Celtics he has grown up and now just wants to bring banners to Boston. I like it a lot and I'm enjoying one of the greatest periods in the history of New England sports.

I think its the best to have Garnett be the featured option on offense. In both games I've seen this preseason, good things happen when Garnett is working the offense--such as creative passes that lead to points or taking the ball himself for scoring opportunities. Against Cleveland, I thought Pierce was forcing some, as he penetrated into the lanes, only to have the ball stripped from him (happened a couple of times). Seems like it would be better to have KG create some offense for Pierce. Have Pierce cut to the basket more on give and goes with KG--that should open up more plays for the both of them.

KG has to be the first option. When he gets the ball in the post a wing has to come down to double or a big has to come help side or else KG is just going to destroy a defender straight up. Once that happens KG will do exactly what we've seen, catch the open guy, swing to a miss match, kick back out so the guys on the perimeter can start the swing or get a good look. His presence on the block opens up everything. I know it's preseason hoops, but I can't remember a time, preseason or not, in which Pierce has had such good looks at the rim.

Yep, I've never seen Pierce and RAllen (or Perk and Rajon) as open as they have been when KG has the ball. We have such excellent ball movement now.

34 assists in the last game. That is incredible. The ball movement has been great and the entire team has been good at finding the open man. Exciting times for sure.

One aspect I like about the deals this summer is that the players now trust each other on the floor. In prior years, it was Pierce (and Walker) trying to go one on one the entire game.
