I said why. Kobe is Kobe and I don't expect him to suddenly change. He does have 3 rings and I explained already why I think it work. He would be a boston celtic. He's not going to destroy us. Do you honestly believe KG, RAy Allen, Ainge are going to be affected by Kobe's ego? You post is funny, but seriously..... Do you really think Kobe would cause Ainge to panic and start making ridiculous trades? The reason I do this trade if everything checks out and we can get him in a swap for Pierce and not much more is because imo Kobe is a top 4 player. Lebron, Garnett, Duncan, Kobe. That would give us two of the top players in the game. Pierce is a top 15 player. I don't care who he is as a person. Kobe is a top player. He always shows up when its time to play. He wants to win and expand his legacy.
Is it worth it? Probably not, but if we could get Kobe for Pierce and a #1 pick and everything checks out, I do it.
Think about it? It's better than Kobe going to someone like Chicago, and if we can put a team of Garnett, KObe and Allen on the court that's an outstanding team. Kobe also has more trade value down the road than pierce.

If Kobe had that much trade value he'd be traded already. Plus his contract is even bigger than PPs
I don't see what you said. I saw you said that other players wouldn't be affected by him but I think if Shaq could be affected by him then others can too. Plus I think KG was a little affected by Steph.
I see you say he wants to win, but I think if he did he wouldn't have run Shaq out of town.

The Lakers are asking for a package built around Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, which is more than Chicago is willing to surrender.
If the Bulls aren't willing to meet LA's asking price, anyone think they would settle for Pierce straight up?

Kobe is an all around better player than Pierce, but Pierce, and this is key, is a much better teammate then Kobe has ever been. Chemistry/talent wins banners, and Kobe wouldn't be a fit in Green.

I agree, but don't necessarily agree that Kobe is guaranteed to be a bad teammate, or ruin chemistry. He very well could, as his past history reminds us, but I think KG and RAllen will help Kobe tame his ego down a bit.

The Celtics made the committment to build around Pierce and it was Pierce that was the catalyst in bringing RA and KG. I don't see the Celtics trading him. I don't like Kobe. I agree with Fin that he wouldn't fit the chemistry that is being built here. We don't need the kind of drama that Kobe brings with him.

I don't disagree, Kobe's malcontent may be more of a result of dealing with Laker management then a personality flaw but considering what could happen the risk seems unnecessary. We know what we get with Paul and Kobe would be an upgrade, but not so much so that it would merit risking the chemistry that has already been built. Most of all I just like Paul's toughness more than Kobe's and to me that gives The Truth the edge over Kobe. --Fin

I'm with Fin all the way on this one. Besides, I just don't like Kobe. It would be very, very hard for me to cheer for him.

I think this rumor is pretty much dead and is a nonissue anyways.

No, the rumors are true; Kobe is most likely going to be traded (probably to CHI).
I don't really care for Kobe either, and if I had the choice of who I'd want to win a championship with--Kobe or Pierce--I'd also take Pierce.
Here's a question for you all; if with Pierce we can get to the Finals, but just can't get over the hump to win the gold--but we could possibly do it with Kobe--would you then make the trade?

Thats the concerning thing is if Kobe goes to Chicago, Chi is going to be really tough.... I also like Pierce better but as far as which one gives us a better chance to win that's the debate.

If Kobe goes to Chicago they will have to send much of their promising talent including a star to get him. Kobe will be back on a one star team with a supporting cast.

No to trading Pierce for kobe. We don't need another SG on this team especially a selfish SG at that.

Kobe is all but gone in LA, unless of course he waffles again, so that rumor is Herculean in strength.................Kobe for Pierce possesses little to no strength. As for him going to Chi-Town I think that would be great. With all that Chicago would have to give up to get him, Chicago would go from a contender to a pretender instantly.
