Lets see, Doc wants to get our roster cut down to 14, just in case there's a player out there we may be able to sign. We cut Estaban Batista, when he could have been an extra body to throw out there if Pollard gets hit with the injury bug.
We haven't seen much of Brandon Wallace or Jackie Manuel, which means they are likely contenders to be cut so that our roster can come down to 14.
Why 14 though?
Could we possibly have an eye on a big man to fill the 15th spot?

come on is this awful really true, Pollard is injured, and even if he isn't he can't play and DA cut Batista for what, to stay with only one center, very smart, if he dosn't sign with big man, wow trouble

Yeah, that's why I think we are going after a big man. I'm not sure who it is, other than an incling that maybe its PJ Brown. He's a veteran who's capable of playing smart team basketball.
Or I don't know--maybe there's a trade in the works. I have this feeling deep inside that either Big Baby Davis or Leon Powe will be dealt. I like both guys, and I think Doc and Ainge do too, but they play the same position (backup PF), and Scalabrine is probably going to get a lot of playing time there too.

I am thinking Powe goes for a 2nd round draft pick.

I hope not. I like Powe, and I certainly think he will be worth more than just a second rounder. If he's dealt, it'll be in a package deal to bring in a player who can crack into our top 7 or 8 spots.

my guess is we keep a spot open to scoop up some other big that Ainge believes will be cut by their current team.
And I agree with Doc. The little that I saw of Batista, he didnt seem like an NBA caliber big man.

If Powe gets traded I'd think it'd have to be for someone who doesn't make much money. Maybe we could trade him and Pruit for someone who makes a little money, but who would that be? Salim Stoudamire? Buckner? The trailblazers are the ones with too many pgs. Or I guess we could get a big

I really don't think the Celtics need, or are looking for another point guard. We have Rondo, House, T.Allen, Pruitt and R. Allen can play the point, if needed. On the other hand, we could use another "legit veteran" Center in case Pollard is hurt worse than we know, or heaven forbid, Perk or KG goes down. I don't think Pollard or anyone else will get much PT at center unless KG or Perk get hurt , because like I have said before, KG will be the primary back up to Perk.

trading Powe and even Pruit and even a 2nd added on would probably net us a pretty mediocre center. Hilton Armstrong? Cedric Simmons?
