UPDATE: It was reported today that Curry has been cleared to play. Depending on his conditioning, we may see him in the starting lineup, and I definitely expect him to play even if it is off the bench.

Perk has been impressive in his first two games as has Randolph. Perk would ordinarily be matched with Curry and he has had Curry's number in the past. Zach is the Knicks star and it will be up to Perk to play him tough.

vs
Rondo vs Marbury. It is going to be important for Rondo to match up with the veteran point guards around the league. Chances are Marbury will double off of Rondo and it will be up to Rajon to hit his shots when open.

vs
KG vs David Lee. Lee has been a bright spot for NY over the past couple of years but should be no match for KG.

to the game:
Defense - While we are much improved over last year, we still need to work on our defense because that is what is going to determine how far we go this season.
Chemistry - With 9 new faces on the team, how quickly they come together is going to be crucial.
Bench - We know what we have with the starters, and how well the bench comes together and plays is going to be important.

On paper, the Knicks look like a good team. However, names alone don't get it done in the NBA. Example - NY Knicks.

Curry is starting. Knicks win the tip. Curry hits a hook shot. PP goes baseline and hands off to Perk who dunks. Marbury hits a deep 3. PP hits a jumper over Richardson. Knicks turn it over as pass goes off the hands of Richardson out of bounds. KG misses a fall away and Randolph rebounds. Curry's hook shot too hard and Rondo rebounds. Garnett turns it over as he makes a move to the hoop. Crawford's 3 goes off the rim and over the back board. Rondo with a nice pass down the lane to PP who is fouled by Richardson. PP misses the first FT. hits the second. KG pressing Randolph and Rondo with a steal. Perk with a great feed inside to KG who gives a touch pass to Rondo who lays it in. Perk called for a foul inside. Rondo with the Knicks miss and is called for travelling. PP rebounds the Knicks miss. PP takes it to the hoop and lays it in off the glass. Scal with a pass to a cutting Posey who lays it in. Randolph misses Posey rebounds. Pierce's pass is picked off. Robinson misses and Scal rebounds. Celtics get it quickly up court and PP hits a 3. Randolph misses and Scal rebounds. Perk has it taken away by Jones. Time out with Celtics up 37-23 and 8:52 left in the half.

Perk passes inside to PP who is fouled. Celtics inbound on the side. KG comes in for Scal. PP takes it down the lane and the shot is goal tended but they don't call it. PP is fouled and hits the first and misses the second. Knicks rebound. Starters on the floor for the Celtics. Marbury misses and KG rebounds. Rondo in the paint and is fouled on the shot but no call.
