Thoughts on our rotation

It's only been one preseason game but I can kind of see how things might shape up.

House pretty much has the inside track to be the #1 guard off the bench and the backup pg. His shot was on today. Some days it wont be, but he can score....

TA is coming along but he is going to take time. He had a great dunk late in the game but he came up hobbled and you could tell his knee is still bothering him and is going to take time to get stronger.

Posey is our swing man off the bench. He can play multiple positions and I'm sure Doc will play him all over the place. He is kind of the staple of what Ainge has accumulated here in what is a defensive minded interchangeable bench.

Powe is our energy guy off the bench and inside player

Scal was our other big man off the bench today.

Pollard didn't play but he pretty much makes 11 and is the other big man we needed.

I would love if we had another impact player off the bench especially another scoring big man or a pg but it will do. I don't see that happening so what I do like is our bench is pretty deep and well rounded, and strong defensively. One thing I keep noticing about our players is Ainge has gotten a lot of physical players that play hard and are tough players mentally and physically.

That leaves-

Esteban didnt even play. Who knows what to expect from him at this point.

Big Baby showed some energy at the end of game and could work his way into the rotation as the season goes. Big Baby will make it and he is another big man that be an impact for us off the bench scoring it and rebounding.

Wallace is probably going to surprise some people and make this team. Every time I see him he just seems fundamentally sound, plus he is very athletic.

Pruitt has a ways to go but is a decent 5th guard. He is very inconsistant and inexperienced, but has potential.

Dahntay Jones got some time at the end but didnt really show anything. I do like Jones toughness as a guard and he could provide us with some insurance if TA cant go full out.

I would guess Davis is the only lock out of that bunch to make the 12 man roster. Wallace, Pruitt, Jones, Manual, Esteban are going to find it tough to get time on tis team. I can see Wallace and Pruitt making it at this point. We might keep dahntay jones as insurance, and we have yet to see anythign from Batista.

l like the rotation the only thing that had me worry was the defense the had problems with the raptors motion the raptor have a good movement system

Yeah our bench is ok. We really need TA to get on track though, because outside of house we dont really have too many scorers outside of him and House. We have solid guys that can all score. POsey, Powe, Scal, and even Pollard can put the ball in the basket but none of them are really scorers.

the defense looked confused early on. They were running into each other and leaving guys wide open. The Raptors can shoot. I was impressed with Bargnani's shot and Calderone and Bosh were impressive as well. Calderone is better than TJ Ford. As the game went though the defense got a lot better. We are going to be a strong defensive team imo ultimately.

Any thought that Pollard's ankle might keep him from being on the team? If the problem lingers, and if Batiste plays reasonably well, I could see it happening. Which I suppose doesn't mean he couldn't be re-signed later in the year.

Well that's the thing. We need another scoring big man imo and Batista could be that, but who knows. Anyways I went back and watched the game again and kind of made my original post more clear. I kind of threw that up there at first. I like what Danny has done and he seems to have added the type of players we need. I think all these guys have a real opportunity to make this team. We aren't exactly a well oiled machine at this point, but that's to be expected.

I also think Toronto is a good team. I like what they have done as well. I have to give them probs they have a really nice team.

Toronto has one of the better, if not the best GMs in the game.

Our bench will be alright especially you know Doc will have atleast 1-2 of the big three on the floor at all times. No way will we see an entire second unit on the floor w/o Allen/Pierce/Garnett on the floor with them.

Far as defense goes, it'll take time for team defense to gell together.
