I think 13 roster spots are already in place (I read someone say that Powe is not a sure thing--but I think he is), and there's competition for the final two spots on the roster.
With that, my guess is that the competition is between four guys: Jackie Manuel, Brandon Wallace, Esteban Batista, and Dahntay Jones. These guys are the newest acquisitions, and ones who don't have guaranteed contracts beyond the preseason.
Lets hear who you think will make the team, and which two will be cut.

I honestly dont know at this point. I would say Esteban and Jones have the inside track to make it, but I could see Manual or Wallace surprising as well. We might decide we dont want to waste our time with Esteban at this point for all we know. These are guys that could have signed elsewhere and still could but I'm sure they chose us because of the chance for a title. I guess htey came in with the intention of working hard and trying to make it.

Batista is impressing in these first trainng sessions.
Pollard is injured and i guess Esteban will be the second center, or even our starting if Perks screws up (again).
From what i've read, Pruitt was keeping Doc's atention among the rookis, so i think B.Wallace and J.Manuel will end up being dismissed.

Batista for sure. And I think the final spot will come down to Wallace or Jones. Jones may have the advantage because of experience but if Wallace impresses in the preseason then he may stick.

Ask which 2 of the 17 won't. Manuel and CandyMan (as of 2 days ago, he was listed on the team roster---and was in the 17 by my count.) May have made a mistake on the num bers.

Yeah, Kandi is not on the list of 17.
I think for certain, Jackie Manuel is going to be cut. I'll go out on a limb and say that Batista will make it, simply because we already have a lot of wing players and don't need to keep both Jones and Wallace--one spot will be given to a big man.
So the final holdover will come down to Dahntay Jones and Brandon Wallace. Between the 2, Jones has the slight advantage cause he's a 4 year veteran, and his game is more developed. But Wallace may be the keeper if he shows the potential to be a better player down the road.
At this point, I don't really care who are 15th player is, so I'll happily take the player who has more upside.

Batista cause he is a need. The other spot comes down to defense and defense alone. With Posey on board there is less need for Wallace but he's biggest with a little guaranteed money. I doubt Manuel or Jones can play even a tiny bit of point. I think in doubt DA just keeps the best player and goes with Wallace and mostly hopes he never sees the floor

We are debating over players who will see little if any floor time. I still think we have to give consideration that a veteran PG might become available during pre-season.

I'm hoping it will be Batista and Dahntay staying and Wallace and Manuel getting cut. The latter two are just too inexperienced for the team we have going right now. Batista is good big man insurance to have if this Pollard injury gets serious. He's also been pretty impressive so far in training camp. I've always liked Jones and I think him, Tony, and Posey could make a killer lock-down D wing trio off the bench.

I'd like Wallace to stick.

I don't know if Wallace's upside is that high. Otherwise, I'd keep him over Dahntay Jones. Like Q said, we are talking about the 15th player on the roster, who most likely will not see a single minute on the court this season, and possibly next season.
I'm intrigued by Batista, and for sure would like to hold onto him; even if its only for 1 year. I'd like to see how he progresses under Clifford Ray, and if he improves, keep him longer. If he doesn't pan out so well, let him go.

The last 2 spots should be based on upside. Neither player will play.
