We are going to be very scrappy, defensive team this year. This is a new look we haven't had in a long time. With Garnett. Posey, Rondo, Allen, Perk. That's a lot of D. Scrappy guys like Pollard and Scal too. WIth Pierce and Allen stepping up their defense which I think they will, they've always been hardnosed scrappy players, and capable of defense, they just have had a huge load on them offensively. we should be very strong defensively.

I concur, CF. We have become a good defensive team (at least on paper). With Tom Thibodeau helping out our defense, and with the defensive players we have brought in, we ought to be a top 10 defensive team.
If our players can learn to gel quickly and chemistry builds right away, we should be the East's top team.

I dont dare say defense. This is Doc and the Celtics. I think maybe we'll play it but I'm not sure we'll do much winning with it

with the signing of Posey, we will have the ability to put a lock down defender at every position on the court.
1 Rondo
2 Tony Allen
3 Posey
4 Garnett
5 Perk

I wouldnt necessarily say lockdown, but definitely plus defender. Furthermore, I think that Pierce's defense will be back to where it was in 1998-2000 and Allen's will be better as he is a "team defender"

Yeah you are probably right lofanis. lockdown probably isn't the right word. Plus defenders is probaly more appropriate. Posey is a good utility player. He can do a lot of things. He's kind of like Bruce Bowen in that he brings great defense but he is actually more well rounded imo and will bring scoring for us as well. He only averaged like 8 ppg last year but I could see him putting up 10-15 a game for us. We need that guy who is going to be the 4th scorer and Posey could be it. With Rondo, Perk getting around 8-10 a game posey will probably be that 4th scoring option getting close to 15 a game around 5 boards a couple steals and good d.
FL is right though. We can pretty much put a really good defensive unit out there in Perk, Garnett, Posey, TA and Rondo. I'd like to see that unit at times actually. It's not liek we are deficient in scoring either. Give Pierce and Allen a rest and that's the type of unit that could do some things.

We have good defensive players, and a good defensive system. That usually equates to a lot of success on defense.
