He is a lockdown type of guy, but the teams he's been on he's usually been able to come in for stretches where he can really be a factor. With Pierce and Allen here is that going to tbe tricky? Say Posey is in and is really doing a job on Lebron. Does that mean Pierce continues to sit?

I think you may see Allen at PG or Pierce at the 4 for some stretches.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. This might be why we might not sign a real backup pg and signed house instead. It seems like Ray Allen might be playing some backup pg for us. I'm guessing Posey should get significant minutes. He's a roleplayer but of all the guys we signed he should play 25-30 mpg. If Pierce slides to the 4 and Garnett to the 5 that cuts into Perk and Pollards minutes but they should be getting like 30 and 15. Garnett will get close to 40. That gives about 5 mpg of pierce at the 4. And whatever Scal gets.

This is probably how things will turn out. Say we are playing Cleveland--either Pierce or RAllen will have to guard Lebron, and one of them will pick up quick early fouls (if Lebron is playing his normal attacking game). Posey will come in and take the defensive assignment on Lebron, and since Doc won't want Pierce or RAllen to pick up their 3rd foul before the half, he will continue to play Posey.
But under normal circumstances, even if Posey is containing Lebron, Doc will play the best players, meaning he will reinsert RAllen or Pierce back into the game. That's just how it goes.

Doc is going to have to know what he's doing and hopefully he does. I'm hoping he uses these guys the right way, not just playing to a minute quota. Watching doc at times last year it just seemed like his rotations made no sense in regards how guys were actually playing and matchups etc...

Right, the onus is now on Doc.

Right, the onus is now on Doc. Which scares the heck out of me.

We are on a tight scedule to win it all, so if Doc fails to show results right away, look for him to be canned.

We have so many guys now that can play multiple positions. That just makes us more versatile and more potent.
I do not see Posey playing 30 minutes a game, but I do see him coming in and spelling Pierce and Ray Allen. I actually think (hopefully Doc thinks this too) that the Big 3 will possibly play less minutes then they are used to, (at least Pierce and Ray) not a whole lot less but Pierce and Ray should NOT be playing 40 minutes/game by any means. They don't need to now.
You may see at times Posey come in for Pierce with House, Ray, and Posey at the 1,2,3.
Sometimes Ray will sit and it will be House, Pierce, and Posey at the 1,2,3
Sometimes you will have Ray, Pierce, Posey at the 1,2,3
Do not forget TA as well. I think him and Posey can form a very productive and formidable 1-2 punch off the bench on the offensive and defensive end while some starters can rest.
I think at times you will see a lineup of House, TA, and Posey with KG on the floor to give both Paul and Ray a rest.
One thing is for sure, Doc has options to choose from now.
I am actually really excited about our bench. We have multiple defenders/stoppers on our whole team now right now where we have always struggled to have just one. I think this could possibly be the best bench we have had in quite some time.
Imagine a defensive lineup of:
Rondo TA Posey Garnett/Powe Perkins
That's some defense, and gritty toughness right there.

I easily see Posey being a 30 minute guy and in there at crunch time locking down the other teams hot hand. Doc will have to step up his coaching game but it is easier to do that with proven veterans than having to teach kids like the last two years. So the Celtics must get better this year.
