LSU's PF, Brandon Bass(6'8" 250lbs) is a very good looking prospect. He reminds me a lot of a young Chris Webber during his Michigan days. Good solid body with good quickness and good springs in his legs. Really not an athletic freak, but considering his build, he can move around fairly easily. His ball handling is not his strength, but to his credit, he can bring the ball up the court if need be.
He's a pretty good rebounder who can come up with rebounds in traffic, but has yet to understand how to effectively box out and seal his man. Decent hands, and he can quickly snatch rebounds out of the air.
Farily good post up game and even has a developing turn around jumper.
Very balanced player. Has good foundation (legs/feet) and is not caught lunging much. Muscular frame, but not overly big so that it restricts his flexibility. Is one of the more mobile PF's in the league. A bit to muscular to play SF, and he is quicker than most PF's.
I'd consider him to be in the 20 - 30 range in the draft if he declares next year. If it was this year, its questionable if he'll make it in the first round. Though I like him more than Hakim Warrick, he's not as exciting as Warrick, which may cause him to be picked later than Warrick will be.
Basically, solid big men who are more old school and who can't run like a deer, jump out of the gym, or have long arms that touch the rim flat footed, aren't in high demand. With a late first round pick, a team has a good chance of drafting Wayne Simien, Torrin Francis, Lawrence Roberts, Brandon Bass, Ronny Turiaf, Ike Diogu, Sheldon Williams, and others like them. This could be an opportunity for Ainge to grab us a rebounding big man to keep Blount on the bench.
