Patterson said he would prefer to sign with Boston or Miami, and added he's not concerned about Hardaway signing with the Heat and Miller considering the Celtics.
"It's going to be interesting," Patterson said. "Reggie is what, 41, 42? He's going to be just shooting threes, and he isn't going to be a 30- to 40-minute per night guy.
"You look at those squads (Boston and Miami) -- where's the stopper? The energy guy? The defensive guy? That's me. I'm the only guy they're missing."

I love that idea "The Kobe Stopper" is a great deffensive player, and the big plus for us is that he is agree with that Veteran Minnimum paycheck, and he want to play for us.

He is also classified as a sexual predator and last time I checked the Heat have Posey as the stopper and Dorell Wright as the energy guy.
With that being said Id still take him.

He is also classified as a sexual predator and last time I checked the Heat have Posey as the stopper and Dorell Wright as the energy guy. Posey is a free agent who isn't expected to return to the club, and Dorell Wright can't get minutes because riley believes in veterans not younger players. Patterson is no "KOBE STOPPER" that's laughable. Kobe could hit 40 on patterson in his sleep, but he brings that eastern conference toughness and defensive mentality. I don't want miami beating us in anything. Riley has a great track record of taking other teams garbage and turing it to gold. We'll see how bad he wants to be a celtic, because neither the heat or boston have alot of money. It's amazing 2 months ago no one wanted to play here, know everyone is calling us. Amazing!!!!!

I'm telling you if don't know that Ruben Patterson's nickname in the NBA league is "The Kobe Stopper", no matter how much Kobe scores against him

Would be a great pickup if we can get him for the minimum. especially with Tony Allen injury.

I'm telling you if don't know that Ruben Patterson's nickname in the NBA league is "The Kobe Stopper", no matter how much Kobe scores against him kobe 7/23FG 27 pts 5 ast Patterson 3/7 7 pts 2 ast He kept KB under his average so he ain't that bad. Not mention Kobe was airing it out that game (6/14 from the 3pt land). So, Kobe was 1/16 from 24 ft or less. Far as signing him here, if wyc thought Telfair was a troublesome child then he won't want any part of Patterson's skeletons on this roster. It's one thing to carry a gun its another thing being a convicted sex offender.

the only thing that's important for me is that he is a verry good deffense player and that's all I don't care who he is in his own private life, I don't live with him, but I want him in my team

What? So you do not care if he is, let's say, playing for the Celtic's one night and, after the game the freak is trying to hit on, let's say, one of your friends teen daughters? So, let me get this straight, as long as he can play 15 min of D, you don't care WHAT he does after the game, while he is still, IMO, representing the Celtic's.

I normally can overlook a person's past history and look strictly at his play on the court, but the things I've read about Patterson makes me want to stay away from him. He's had charges against for aggrevated battery (including his own wife), public confrontations, and of course being a sexual predator.
He may not be a good lockerroom presence, and that's also a knock against him that might hurt his stock.

I don't want him anywhere near us. Even if I were into the whole forgiveness when they are good players thing, he doesn't bring enough good things to the table to justify the bad.

well... than who is not that guy, Kobe is a conflict guy too, Rasheed is that guy too in his all career, and many others, in the whole NBA there are a few good guys. With good I mean character, play, and heart, and we got three of them with P34, KG, Ray-Ray, if we must and want to get a good deffence player who is OK and own these things inside and and he wants to play for us for the veteterans minnimum I think we're in a one f***** up situation I mean who other left..... nobody, we're in a situation that we must grab all we can get for the minnimum price, and I can tell you that Patterson is the best choice for us who is on the market yet. Of cousre that's only my opinion

But we don't really need help at that position. I'd rather try to get help at pg or center. Maybe Gary Payton or call John Stockton and Mutumbo
