-Whose going to give Allen/Pierce?KG a break?
Maybe Reggie Miller. Maybe Tony Allen, but that's if he comes back totally healthy and back to the form his ended at.
Can 3 primary scorers be able to co-exist?
Yes, I believe KG, PP, and RA are all unselfish players whose egos should not pose a problem.
Will Rondo be a starter in this league?
I definitely think he's a starter in this league. Question should be if he can reach the star level he has the ability to be.
Is the Perk the answer at Center?
I'm comfortable with him there, since we have KG right next to him, and KG is an All-World player.
Can Doc Rivers emerge as a decent coach?
I'm not sure, but hopefully we can still win inspite of Doc.

I like the team's chances. Phoenix's opportunity is closing, and SA is only getting older.

I said no. with such drastic changes and Tim Duncan still being Tim Duncan as well as the Mavs and Suns around, it's not easy task. The east has some solid teams who will not be easy to beat either but we can now compete with them and see how the match ups work.
good points by JHVOS. I think the first one, 'Who's going to give the big 3 a break?" is the toughie. Doc has to monitor their mins during the regular season and not burn them out. A healthy Allen and if Powe's summer league play transfers to the regular season, they'll be able to slip in 15-20 mins an night and have the big 3 rotate in and out. (I hope) I think the 3 big guys will have no problems co-existing so long as this team is winning a lot. The issues of big dawgs playing well together always arise when a team is not successful. Rondo. It's only his second year so it's hard to tell if he'll be ready. He showed loads of skills and his only huge weakness is his outside shot. You never know with promising rookies. Some have room for improvement and the dedication to reach their full potential, others are exactly what they are from their rookie year until they retire. I think he'll have it easier though with 3 huge talents there to draw attention on offence. Kinda like how average players join the suns and put up great numbers because of their big 3. Perkins is a serviceable big man. A role player. If he can stay outta foul trouble he can fill that role amirably. Doc, he can't coach young talent, but he may be a good playoff coach and may be able to win a series for us... Most likely he's not that good and we'll lose a series because of him and need to make a change next year depending on who is available.

At least when Doc says "player xyz" will have an all-star season, he will mean what he says (if is referring to Allen-Pierce-Garnett.

Boston sports teams have a recent history of amazing turnarounds.
2001-2002: Patriots come out of nowhere behind 2nd year QB Tom Brady and win their 1st Super Bowl. Did you see it coming?
2004: The Red Sox stick it to their arch-rival Y----s by beating them 4 straight after all seemed lost after that 19-8 debacle. Very symbolic score BTW.
2008: The Celtics emerge after their catastrophic 24-58 season and even more catastrophic lottery result. Ainge pulls off two more miraculous deals and gets Sam Cassal in February 2008 and Reggie Miller coming out of retirement in January 2008 hits the GW trey in San Antonio, Tx and the Celtics win their 1st Championship in 22 years in front of the Eyes of Q. And afterwards, CSL has a live internet Cigah Pahty on the Riverwalk.
Why not, anything is possible. Let's do this job. YEEEEEHAAAWWWWW!!!!

Not to be the negative one, but we will not win it all this year, and possibly not next year. I say in Year 3, we will hang another banner in the rafters.
This year, ECF loss Next year, NBA Finals Loss Year after, NBA Finals Win
Hopefully I am wrong and we can at least win it all next year, but I still do not see us going all the way this year. I think this team just needs to play together a bit before they win it all. Chemistry is important, and some more experience for Perk, Rondo, TA. Posey will help bolster our bench but he doesn't put us over the top. He was a GREAT sign though. Good move by Ainge.

Majority of us feel the same way, Esco (judging by our polling).
There's a possibility that we win it all this year. But for that, the Big 3 will have to play like we assume they can, Perkins and Rajon will have to handle their own as starters, and our bench will have to play exceptionally well. And I think all three are reasonable enough to accomplish.
But nonetheless, I think next year is more likely our year.

I actually think this year could be the year. I don't want to get my hopes up too much. But I really don't see what is wrong with this team. Why can't we win it? It might take a half season to get clicking and you never know what's going to happen as far as injuries and stuff, but we have the potential to be the best team in the nba. I actually think we have the potential to be dominantly the best team in the nba. so why not this year?

There's nothing that says we can't win it all this year, but if I were to scrutinize this team from a neutral standpoint, I would say that maybe our frontcourt can be stronger. Scott Pollard is a hard worker, and I think I'll enjoy having him a part of this team. But if he's the best backkup big man we have, we may look into potential upgrades. Actually, with the acquisition of Posey, I like our chances better. I definitely think we can win the East, and if we play well in a 7 game series, I think we can beat anyone in the West.

This is basically a brand new team. It's the first time that the "Big 3" has played together as well as the rest of the team.
Chemistry is the most important thing after talent something that teams like San Antonio, Dallas, and Phoenix have mastered over the years. We definitely have the talent. Now everyone needs to gel and play together.
The Yankees have the "best" team every year but never win unfortunately.
It is possible that we could win it all because of how passionate and unselfish the Big 3 are on the court. I still say it'll take another year to win it all though.
