Man, I am going to miss the kid greatly. Everytime I pop in a Celtics game from last season, and watch how Jefferson was quickly blossoming into a force, how he was owning the boards, and even improving his defense, I'm saddened that he's no longer a Celtic. He's going to be a special player, and I think highly of his future (but wish it was with us).
We gave up a future star player to bring in a true superstar player, with the hopes that we can win a championship in the very near future (and it has to be in the near future because our Big 3 aren't getting younger).
But I wonder, with Jefferson asking for an extension from Minnesota, could we be able to bring him back if they won't give him what they are asking for? Wishful thinking maybe, but what if Al wants to come back to Boston so badly, that he won't want to sign with anyone else once his current contract ends.
I know Ainge wants him back, and I know 99% of Celtics fans will want him back--and I hope Jefferson wants to come back.
Maybe, just maybe, we'll see Jefferson back in Beantown.

I would love to get Big Al back but somehow I don't see it happening. He is asking for an immediate extension now starting around 10 million a year. I think once he gets used to being "the man" in Minnesota, he will want to stay there. I know that he really wanted to stay in Boston and didn't want to be traded, but now that he has been traded he may not feel the same way.

Nice thought, but the team doesn't have the wiggle room (cap).

No chance. He would have to turn away tens of millions of dollars to sign here. Again, no chance.

Maybe in 2014, Ainge will stockpile enough assets to make a run at Jefferson.

In 5 years we lose the big 3 to retirement. Which is probably around the sametime big al goes for this 2nd big contract (around 25 years old. So, we still have a chance to get our young prodigy back except this time he'll be a grown man!
