PG-Rondo, Pruitt SG-Allen, Allen SF-Pierce, Wallace PF-Garnett, Powe, Scal C-Perk, Davis
We only have 11 players. TA and Davis are really the only 2 players off the bench that have some upside. Powe, Scal, Wallace, and Pruitt are mainly depth players. We obviously are going to sign a pg and a big man i would guess. Brevin Knight and PJ Brown here we come..

Out of the young guys Rondo, Perk, TA and Davis were the only survivors along with Powe. Who would have thought. I'm glad we kept who we did. Not to play favorites but Rondo, Perk, TA and Davis were my favorite young guys on the team next to pierce. I am still a bit shocked we gave up so much though and who we gave up. Delonte=Gone. Gomes=Gone. Jefferson=Gone. Green=Gone. Telfair=Gone. Outside of Telfair I like all those players and wish them the best. I really liked Delonte in particular. Jefferson was just a great young player and will do well. I'm also sad to see Gomes and Green go. Ryan was expendable but he's one of those players you just like. Green has a ways to go, but has all the talent in the world.

One thing I love about this trade is that now you are going to see how good Perk and Rondo can be. Rondo showed how good he was last year with no jumper and passing to nobodies. Now he has three all-stars to pass to. How will teams play defense? Last year they doubled Al and doubled PP. They can't do that now. There will always be someone open now. Always. Perk will probably get a ton of easy shots. The pg situation isn't that bad because KG, Ray, PP, Big Baby, and Scal are all excellent passers. You've been getting used to seeing young guys play and we will still be seeing that. Big Baby, Powe, Rondo, Allen, Wallace, Pruit. They will all get mins. Even when these guys retire there is a good chance that Rondo and at least one other player will be all-star level. Maybe TA.

Well that's the thing. We still have a good young core of role players. Their roles will just be more defined. We kind of had to make a choice between TA and Green. Gomes and Big Baby and Powe. Telfair or Pruitt. We made the right choice in each scenario imo considering the role we need them to play. Not all of these guys were going to be able to get time. We also kept Rondo and Perkins. We still have guys with very solid potential and we will really be able to see how good these guys can be because their roles will be more defined. We also have our core of superstars in place in Pierce, Allen and Garnett. It should make Doc's job a lot easier.

I am all for the trade, however I am sadden to see the team part w/ Gomes. Gomes not only was a hard worker, but a true professional.

I am all for the trade, however I am sadden to see the team part w/ Gomes. Gomes not only was a hard worker, but a true professional. Agreed. Gomes would have stabilized our bench. The way we look now on paper, our bench is really thin. If Tony Allen can regain full strength in his knees, he'll be one of the bench players who we can count on to produce. Big Baby may get some playing time here and there, but you hardly depend a lot on a rookie to produce for you, especially on a playoff team (unless he's an extraordinary talent who has future stardom written all over him). Leon Powe will hopefully have developed his game over the summer to be able to give us 15 solid minutes of rebounding and garbage points. Working with Clifford Ray should help him. I guess Brian Scalabrine will be used heavily off the bench. I'm actually happy with Scal. As long as he doesn't try to do too much, he's a nice bench player. He hustles, rebounds, uses his body to bang guys, and he can also hit three's. Gabe Pruitt probably won't be ready to give us meaningful minutes yet. Again, rookies shouldn't be counted to give a lot of production.

Yeah, I'm thinking that Scal is going to become a fan favorite this year. He is a perfect bit player for a good team.

Doc pretty much said that we aren't done and we are going to add another guard and another big.

I would point out that Perk, and TA aren't kids anymore. Scala is a vet and Rondo and Powe aren't rookies anymore. Plus guys like Powe will get more attention in coaching now. And have more people to learn from.
When you think of it other than Rondo the top 6 players all have 4 years or more in the league. We are actually one of the older teams now and I think we are getting older some time soon.

Tony will have to work off the rust early on (hopefully not past the quarter mark of the season). For the time being, we really don't have a bench wing player to relieve Pierce and R-Allen.
Perkins and KG should be able to block between 3 - 4 shots per game. They should stabilize our interior defense, more than we've been able to the last decade or so.
Rondo definitely needs to stabilize his jumper. With our 3 star players, he's going to find himself left alone quite a bit.

Unless DA gets another big, Davis will get lots of time early in order to try to get him up to speed. From what I saw in one summer league game, he will be real interesting.

I want us to get Damon Stoudemire and best available center (not Olowakandi again).
