Sunday night, it sounds like we could hear really big news on Monday, or Tuesday. KG may be wearing a Celtics uni, and we will no longer be talking about Big Al Jefferson being our star PF (and maybe Rajon, and/or Gerald may be gone too).
Please vote so I can get a feel for how Celtic Nation feels about this trade if it goes down. I think we can do damage with Pierce, KG, and R-Allen, but I hate to think of Jefferson not being here anymore.

I endorsed it..... I hoep we dont give up Jefferson and Rondo though. I think this is going to happen. I just can't see how you can pass up Pierce, Allen and Garnett on the same team. that is the best trio in the NBA by a good margain imo. Nash, MArion, Amare is not as good. Nor is Duncan, Manu or Parker. We are going to have to fill some holes on our bench and it appears like Garnett's extension and whether we give up Rondo or Telfair and Green is what is holding it up.
It's weird how the lottery works out. Had we won the lottery and gotten Oden we might be talking about trading Pierce and sticking with our youth. Once we didn't win the lottery, and traded for Allen or direction was pretty much set. We want a winner in Boston and Pierce, Allen, Garnett probably gives us the best shot at that either way. Next to Kobe and Duncan, Garnett is probably the best player on the planet. Hence the endorsement. Kobe won with Shaq. Duncan won with Parker and Ginobli. Put Garnett with Pierce and Allen and we are going to win and probably dominate at a higher level then either of those teams did.

i hate to see jefferson to leave. especially for the commitment he's done for the celts. however for the boston celtis the deal would be good i think. we would be more than relevant again. so i'm torn but if it happnes i hope for kg to last for another 5 years at the level he's at. the trade wouldn't be so bitter then.

I hate to give up AlJeff in any trade, but if its going to be for a vet, I'm glad its KG. We've had to put up with some craptastic basketball over the last 15 years. We deserve to see a player as outstanding as KG in the green and white.

Ainge's plan was gather enough assets in order trade for All-star players. From the looks of it, it seems he's doing exactly what he said he was going to do. Everyone will miss Big Al but, of all players in the NBA KG is the only player i would trade for. Far as I'm reading, Rondo isn't going anywhere.
Now the next question is, when are the celtics tickets on sale?

If it is he and Jefferson, I say no way...they can have a number of other people but not our only true point ... sorry kevin

On First Take on ESPN this morn they said it was Ratliff, GG, Telfair, and AL J. They said McHale wanted Rondo, Ainge said no way, and Ainge won that battle. If you're Mchale you can NOT be beaten by Ainge AGAIN. I read on ESPN today that multiple draft picks would go to them too. Who needs the 27th pick, which is where we'll be picking the next 3 years if this happens. I'm not worried about the future. A championship is worth 5 years of rebuilding and 2 championships is worth 6. When KG and whatnot are in the last years of their deals they will represent attractive trade pieces.

Danny Ainge should be fired for even CONSIDERING this deal for Garnet. It would be a MASSIVE error in judgement, and appears to indicate a weakness in logical reasoning...or it constitutes panic. In either case, he does not appear up to the job.

we give up way to much in this trade, last time i checked, you cant win games with just 3 players on the field (as a figure of speech") We will not have any decent role players left. Let alone have the cap space to sign any..
Most importantly, we give up all of our future. Im also not convinced that Garnett at this point is so much better than Al. I DO NOT want to see Al shine for the next decade in a wolve uni, while we are in mediocrity after 2 or 3 good years of this trio.
PLUS, what if Garnett suffers a serious injury in the beginning of the year like torn ligaments, broken ankle.. To much depends on 1 guy. It like playing the lottory or the stockmarket with all your money invested in 1 company. Brilliant move if it works out but i cant think of what will be if something goes wrong...

If the Celtics are going to trade Al Jefferson, Garnett better be the player in return. The rest of the package is trade fodder.

Not even 24 hours ago we were talking about the most pathetic things. Like would Ratliff be healthy enough to help us? Has Bassy improved? Can Big Baby play center? Will Gerald Green ever learn to play defence or will he learn it and not play it anyway? Will Brandon Wallace be in the league 2 years from now? Will we waive Allan Ray? Will Powe surpass Gomes at the 4? What minimum level vet will we get at pg?
It was like the kind of conversations I guess Memphis fans are having and Atlanta fans have had for a decade. And we had those conversations for a decade.
Now we can be like "So how many championships do you think we'll win?"
Those other questions seem soooo far away now. I don't care about them at all anymore? I mean who wants Yi anymore? Now I can LAUGH at Yi. Yi. Kinda irrelevant now, ain't he? I'm kinda looking forward to settling the debate about whether Duncan or KG is better and how much it has to do with the guys around them. I'm a little curious if maybe PP can make 2nd team all-nba, cause up till now he made 3rd only once.
This is a gold medal guy, a silver, and almost a bronze.
And it cost us a few lotto tickets. Cause that's what GG and Al J were. Scratch and hope you win big.
