How tall is Davis? I've seen 6'9" several places, and 6'7" in another.
With his mobility and offensive game, could he be backup at the 5? He has the bulk to push in the lane.
I know that Powe played the 5 in Vegas, but I don't see that on a regular basis during the regular season. On a night when refs go wild calling fouls, he may be the best choice left.

He could definitely play stretches at the 5, especially against a guy like Ben Wallace, but you dont really want him there defending Yao, or Big Z. Personally I want to see how he would hold up against a guy like Shaq.
However, with guys like Amare and Dwight playing C it all depends on the matchup.

According to Draft Express, Big Baby is 6'7 1/2" without shoes and 6'9" with shoes.
Dave Cowens and Clifford Ray were both6'9" centers and they didn't do so badly.

Thanks.
Didn't SA use a guy named Malik Rose as a backup 5 for a season or two? As I remember, he is also on the short side.
And he will give Doc some more options when he wants to play "small ball."

Against small teams, yes he could probably play some 5. But he's around 6'8" and he doesn't have long arms or explosive jumping ability.
Glen Davis must learn to use his strength to the utmost. He can do a lot of damage with his body, ala Shaq (albeit a shorter version of Shaq).

Cs roster lists Davis at 6'9", which is one inch shorter than AJ and Ratliff. Same as Useless. With his physique, he should be able to play some backup 5 if no other bigs are added.
Speaking of other bigs: Candy man is still listed. Reckon he will show up for another cameo this year?
The Celtics site is really bereft of basketball information. It is all about hype and PR. UGH!!

No he doesn't have explosive jumping ability, but then again neither did Barkley, but he should could rebound for a guy 6'4" to 6'6" (depending on where you look him up) P.S. A back up beeper should be installed on big baby, cause that is one seriously wide load

There's no way Big Baby has a 7'4" wing span. He doesn't have long arms.
