It's simple...take better shots

I was reading through the thread about not going anywhere without a big man. I was of the popular thought that rebounding would cure our ills. So sitting home on a Sunday afternoon, i thought I would look at some stats,

Our rebounding, although not spectacular, is middle of the road to be more precise. More rebounds on the defensive side of the glass, would help us a good amount, (#21 own / #18 Opp with a -.02 differential. Offensive rebounding we were middle of the pack #18 in our own ... but #7 (+.9 differential) in what we gave up.

Scoring and TO's on the other hand is atrocious!! We simply must take better care of the ball and shots.
#29 in FG% and FGM. We were # 28 in adj. FG% and our against PPS.
we were # 25 in assists
# 27 in TO/A ratio
#24 in TO's
# 26 in TO ratio
# 22 in TO's against

A couple of bright spots
3P% we were ranked #6 but, were # 20 in attempts
We also were pretty good from the foul line # 9 in %, # 10 in Made and #11 in Attempts.
I never thought I would say this but, please take a couple more threes after the Antoine era of 17-20 a game.
To me, pure and simple this says we must A) Take better care of the basketball B) Take higher % shots and C) pass the ball around a bit more before taking said "better" shots.

As I believe I have illustrated (contrary to my own beliefs 24 hours ago) Our problems really arise on the offensive end whether it be Passing, shooting or even just trying to keep the rock from being taken away.

A few keys to the season:

1. Ball movement - everyone gets involved
2. Pierce not holding onto the ball the trying to go 1 on 5
3. Inside presence - AJ

we have the outside/inside game of Allen, the inside/outside game of Pierce and the Inside/mid game of Jefferson we should do a lot better.

Especially since Allen is not totally one-dimensional like Wally. He is faster, has better handles, is a better passer, probably is a better rebounder, and is a better defender (not saying he is artest or even Pierce, but he is better than Wally).

Those tells me how bad are offense is when we're without Wally, Pierce, and Allen for majority of the year.

If Allen, Pierce and Jefferson can stay healthy for most the season we'll definitely have an offensive force to be reckon with.
