Davis looks like he's in great shape. This needs to be emphasized, and I'm glad you mentioned it, CF. Big Baby has lost a ton of weight since his freshman year at LSU. I remember him as a chubby, but enthusiastic, senior in the McDonald's All American game, then a slightly more hardened body as a freshman, then a bit slimmer sophomore, and then looking at him now, he doesn't even have any chubbiness on his face anymore. And his gut area is slim as well. He's worked extensively on his body, and that shows great attitude. At one point, he was over 320 lbs, and I'd be surprised now if he's above 280. Funny how Doc mentioned that Gabe Pruitt was going to take over Delonte's shoes for the time being--and he literally takes Delonte's #. Any word on Ray Allen's #? He's used to wearing 34, but of course we already have a guy wearing 34 right now.

He looks really solid. Hopefully he'll stay that way. I like that pick a lot. As a 2nd round pick he can give us some much needed muscle. I dont care how tall he is. He's 6'9 anyways which is slightly below average but who cares if he is coming off the bench to play a role.

Its really funny because as a 1st rounder, I didn't want anything to do with him. He reminds me of Antoine Walker when he tries to be cute and act like a PG with his unnecessary ball handling, and his adoration for shooting the ball instead of pounding it inside. But as a second rounder, I'm excited for Big Baby and I'm happy to have him. As a second rounder, there's no expectation for him to be a future star player, or even a starter on the team.
I think he'll have a big impact off the bench. He just has to change his style a bit, and not get carried away with cute ball handling.

I agree. He needs to play within himself. He has the ability to do that. He's versatile and could be a rodney rogers type for us with more muscle and rebounding and less range if he plays a refined game.

I think he'll be better than Rodney Rogers, if he plays within himself. He's got more agility and quickness, not to mention ball handling, than Rogers. And Davis can put the ball on the floor and penetrate. He's truly quite an impressive big man.
He's just got to focus on using his power and strength to rebound and clear space inside, and not rely too much on his shooting ability.
Buy yeah, I like Big Baby.

I think he could be a solid player, but I dont think he'll be better than Rogers. Rogers was a lottery pick and had a pretty solid career.

It's kind of hard to compare because Davis is kind of a unique player. Rogers was as well. He was just extremely versatile for a big man. They dont really play the same way, but I think they are both unique players and Davis could have a solid career as a 6th man bench type.

Rogers made a good career because of his ability to shoot the rock from deep. But beyond that, he wasn't much of an interior force, he wasn't much of a rebounder, and he didn't have a lot of skills.
Pound for pound, Glen Davis has more to offer, and if he tries to find his niche and make the most of his role, I feel that he will have a good career as well.

In completely irrelevant news, Rodney Rogers also pull off the geatest in-game dunk I've ever seen.

Davis led the SEC in reboudning this year. So he knows where the board is.

Do you think Powe or Gomes could have led the SEC in rebounding last year? Davis does look very good
