That would be an excellent deal for Minn. Good chips. They could get a real pg for Foye, or Harrington. Put B Wright with Ellis at sg and Brewer at sf. Very good rebuilding

Nope, we are not overhyping Jefferson. The kid is the real deal, and its not just us Boston fans who are saying this. Almost every opposing team's color commentator say that Jefferson is the real deal also. Most are truly amazed at Jefferson's skill level in the post, and he's only scratching the surface--he's still got a midrange jumper that we only see once in awhile. He's one of the most instinctive players we have on the team, and he's got a nose for rebounding. And his defense, once the weakest part of his game by far, is improving at a very rapid pace. He's a future 2 bpg big man. Jefferson is not overhyped at all. And I would not trade include him in a trade for Garnett, simply because Garnett is nearing the downward slope of his career soon and Jefferson is starting his ascent. In 5 years we'll see how smart we've been for holding onto Jefferson. I agree. I don't think you win a championship with Al J as your best player, but maybe as your 2nd best player. PP needs to be 3rd. He had made 3rd team ALL-NBA one time in his career. That's not HOF. He has missed the all-star game more than he made it. He is very very very very overrated.

Garnett will probably play at the gold medal level for a handful of years more, and after that, injuries and deterioration will start to come quickly and frequently. And unfortunately, we don't have the players surrounding Garnett and Pierce to make a run at the championship within the next 3 years. If we added KG, we'd have the talent to win a title. Their is no better big three in the league than KG, PP, and RA. It remains to be seen if they would be able to put it all together, but yeah, the talent would def. be there. Here are the teams with better 3somes than that. Spurs, Suns, Mavs. The Nets couldn't be brushed aside if Krstic comes back healthy. The Jazz and Cavs also would be a match. Oh yeah. And Detroit and maybe even the Heat.

This is what may happen if we bring in KG for Al and Theo. We go to the finals. We lose. Maybe even get beat somewhat embarrasingly by the Spurs. Doc gets horridly outcoached. KG leaves. We just gave up a decade of AL for one finals appearance.
First I'd rather try to get a Camby type without giving up AL and have a very good front court AND a very good backcourt. Not just three big guys and some random young pieces.
If we get KG I want him to first sign a contract extension of 4 years. I want at least 4 years of KG for AL, not one. We could maybe win a championship, but it will take more than one try. Otherwise I'm willing to find out waht AL can do when nobody can double him. I think in two years he could be the top big man in the east under 30. I think he's better than JON now. I think he's better than Bosh now. I think he's better than D Howard 45% of the time. I think he's close if not better than Emeka. I'd be happy to have those guys with PP and Ray, so I'm already pretty happy. There's a reason the Wolves are going after AL. Not Bosh or Howard. AL. There are reasons why.

I'd have a tough time turning away Nash, Marion, and Stoudamire, especially the way S. Nash is playing. But i'd still take our proposed trio over any 3 players that San Antonio and Dallas can muster up.

I thought about the spurs as well, but if we had KG, I'd still take ours over SA's, but it would be close. I wouldnt much rather have ours over their's. I'd take RA over Terry, PP over Howard, and KG over Dirk.

I'd agree with you if it were a round robin of one on one, but in team basketball these teams have achieved a high level of play that I'm not sure ours would. Maybe if they all had clone coaches, but if ours has Doc and they have Avery I'd take them

But on just basketball skill, I'd take our (imagined) over SA's and Dallas'.
