Rodney Rogers is another guy who is big and short. There are players that do succeed if they stay in shape. Davis was a 2nd round pick. I dont expect him to be a stud. If he is a bench player who is a solid roleplayer that is what we want.

Davis put up better numbers than either of those guys in college btw. Fortson did not rebound like Davis did in college.

I wonder what Tractor Traylor averaged in the Big Ten. I found this on the 'net: MIN FG% 3P% FT% RPG APG TPG BPG SPG PPG 95-96 Michigan 19.9 55.4 0.0 54.8 5.9 0.5 2.4 0.7 0.9 9.0 96-97 Michigan 27.3 55.6 0.0 45.5 7.7 0.9 2.8 1.0 1.1 13.1 97-98 Michigan 32.1 57.9 0.0 64.2 10.1 2.6 3.2 1.4 1.3 16.2 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TOTALS 27.3 56.6 0.0 54.5 8.2 1.5 2.9 1.1 1.1 13.3

So he went from 6 to almost 8 to 10 in three years in the Big Ten

Hasn't Big Baby got down to 280 lbs? I think he can lose another 20 lbs. If Perk and Jefferson can do it then by all means i can see Davis losing the weight. Now without having that guaratee contract that 1st round picks get, he'll work 10x harder to improve his body and game.

I actually think he's down to 269. I was reasonably happy that ESPN during the draft had him listed at 6ft 9 and 269, as opposed to NBAdraft.net's 6ft 8 and 280. Montross was 7ft and 275, so 6ft 9 and 269 isn't thaaaaat bad. I wonder how he did in drills and measurments. I think he did best on the bench press, which doesn't hurt. Plus going up against Perk and Al in practice as well as Powe and Gomes will be good for him cause they are all different players. The price is right. He's a low risk, moderatley good reward situation. At one point he might have been a first rounder, so it's not necessarily a bad pick. I am more upset with Pruit.
